All kidding aside. It would be disingenuous to overlook all the charitable
good that the SA has done for many years but I don't need another CRT based lecture.

I'm not knocking anyone who chooses to support the Salvation Army. However, they are in the same boat as the NFL, NBA, NASCAR, etc. If you continue to support them, they will believe their bad actions are condoned. Those bad actions will be continued or even expanded.

Stupid should hurt. If you don't know your audience, where your support comes from, then you deserve a bad year or three.

Maybe the Salvation Army should solicit the BLM, teachers union, DNC and other woke crowds to make up the financial difference they created themselves by not just keeping their pie holes shut on social issues?

Maybe the NRA should be prompted to push the woke Salvation Army on a statement about their stance on the 2A? Throw them in the same basket as Dicks, Walmart, Levi's, Yeti and others?

Seems to run on the same rails

No proof the election was stolen

No proof the Salvation Army thinks were all guilty of racism

No proof Biden is a ChiCom thrall

    Yada yada yada

Are we still taking about this?
I think the positions have pretty much been stated.. over and over.

We should shut up, so maybe the CRT stuff will get swept under the rug? :n00b:

I see WIBCs point. National/international leadership is F'd up. But since 100% of the WIBC dollars stay local where presumably the CRT isnt at the forefront, I think they were wise to proceed the way they did. If I read it correctly it was "Hey, we see you national. We also see you local and arent going to abandon you. So for THIS YEAR we are going to proceed on course. You have a year to square your :poop: away.

And here is hoping that either SA fixes their issue, or WIBC finds a new local partner next year to help. There are plenty of places to put our dollars here.

I wonder if there are better organizations who give a hand up rather than a hand out?

Is there an organization who separates those who are having hard times vs those who just choose to live that way?

Maybe an organization who sifts out users and abusers?

An organization dedicated to not be an enabler?

Personally, I rather they get some help rather than being cycled in and out of jail.

I usually have a small town Michigan court room playing in the background when I work, and the amount of meth addicts... that stuff is nasty and hard to quit.

Radio-thon going on now. I'm not a fan of the annual WIBC radio-tion anyway, so I won't be listening much anyway.

Wonder if there is a way to track this year's WIBC radio-thon donations vs years past?

Where have you been for the last several years?
You really think the people pushing this crud are talking about everyone and not specifically whites?
    Really?

    I'll repeat myself:.
I'd also note that the "Racism study guide" discusses hispanics being prejudiced against people from other hispanic countries, Indian castes, Japanese vs Chinese, etc so it isn't just 'white are bad mmmkay' I think the article is mostly true, but presented without any sort of nuance or context, and I don't think bell ringers are going to be soliciting racial apologies.

That said, the whole thing still seems like a needless wandering into territory not associated with the core mission of charity. I've never been anything approaching a big donor so they probably won't miss my pocket change.

Totally different mission, but I'll take another opportunity to plug givingback.org which is a small organization ran by a former SEAL that helps address mental health issues for military/vets/first responders via outdoor activities. Wheelchair ramps into hunting blinds, for example.

What kind of thinking is this? I will not give a dime to anyone that does not respect me…
I think it ranks right up there with giving your nieces and nephews christmas presents or helping them with food even though your poor, destitute sibling is a raving lunatic that hates your guts, and not screwing those in need because somebody else hates you.

I see both sides. For me I'm giving to Wheeler instead of dropping money in the kettles.

I find the best way to help is with local folks that directly help the people. I have a friend that has a ministry to help veterans and a friend that pastors a small church that give 100% of my donations to those that need the help…

On that note, Camp Camby is another one. It helps vets and families with substance addictions get back on their feet. They provide housing, counseling and support. They do good work.
