    a pocket .357 sp101...

    a POCKET .357 sp101...

    Hmmmmmm

I thought a .38 derringer was good enough

    Okay.
    My bad.
a pocket derringer OR a small revolver.

I guess we just have different ideas of SMALL.

    Carry what you want.
    I could care less.
I got big pockets, you must have tight pants or little pockets.

    so know ya know.
Yup. "Larry C." wrote in 2005:
A "combat revolver"? OK, I'll bite. Make mine a stock Ruger GP-100 with a 4-inch barrell, blued (less glare). Load her with full power .357 Magnum HP rounds and issue 2 speed loaders stoked with same. Folks less comfortable with the brutal, potent .357 loads may be allowed to opt for .38 Sp. +P HP loads. Oh yeah, fixed sights, too.
The .357 magnum cartridge is the most proven "manstopper" round of the 20th century, along with the fabled .45 ACP. If combat is the mission, those high velocity .357 rounds would cause wounds and fatalities to bad guys behind the intended target! That's less likely with the slower .45 ACP. One cannot overlook the utter simplicity of revolvers: soldiers would gain proficiency with the GP-100 or 586 quickly. My two cents.

And his opinion is as valid as yours.

Interestingly, he failed to mention the .38 special.

    In the country, hopefully.
    That's quite the statement.

    "the MOST proven manstopper".

Unfortunately, I seem to be unable to find proof of that.
    Maybe you could help me?

    And..
    "50-60 rds of .45"?
    What?
What kind of .45s are you looking at?
    Well duh.

A FN FNXTac, 3 17 rnd mags +1 in the chamber, and it looks just like a big Bible case to boot!
    This is a sign!

:yesway: to all of you that gave him responses.

He has his 50 now so likely we will never have to deal with him again, once he buys the shiny or sells his POC.

If someone has a link to this discussion please post it. I searched but didn't see anything. We have passed a concealed carry policy at out church. Most people won't take advantage of this and that is fine. For others it won't change much. For me, as someone who has appendix carried for more than 10 years now it is going to be a change. As an elder at the church I can not dress how I would to make appendix carry viable. From what I can see the best course of action would basically be dress like a police detective. During the summer months this is probably going to be a bit uncomfortable but I get cold much easier than I get hot so it will be doable.

So is there anyone here who carries at church and dresses well? By that I mean no untucked shirts mainly. If so, give me a quick rundown of how you do it please? BTW, I will probably use OWB not IWB as I just got a bunch of dress pants that fit and really don't want to by a bunch more in a bigger size.
Have you considered a shoulder holster? Or iswb on hip, under a dress jacket?
