I thought this was supposed to be a "civil" discussion thread, not another excuse to bash other religions.

I hope you didn't take my Texas Holdem comment to be bashing...My wife is Catholic and attends Saint Anthony's....The annual picnic is an informal reunion for folks of all Faith's in Clarksville....Some people I grew up with I see once a year at the picnic....I do confess I play Texas Holdem and Blackjack there....

I wasn't bashing...Just genuinely stating it's one of my favorite events....My apologies if I came across as bashing....

Wasn't pointing at you. Just the general direction the thread was taking.

I'm not tracking. I have the 40 posts/page selected and I think at least the last page was civil. Bordering on hilarious. (That "Alfa Romero" line is going to keep me smiling all day.)

    Was it me? :dunno:

I'm sure T.Lex knows I'm not bashing Catholicism. I have serious theological disagreements, and I occasionally engage in good-natured ribbing, which I hope never to be misconstrued as bashing.

...and rather than thread-jacking the "Shooters" thread, I thought I bring this here:
Don't forget to sign the petition for Billy Graham Day.

While I know you're being sarcastic, Itchy, I would not sign such a petition. Nor would I sign for Luther, Calvin, Spurgeon, Tozer, or Sproul. (maybe for McPherson ;))

Don't celebrate the human, celebrate they one they themselves humbly celebrated.

    It's a joke Brother....

Dawkins smugness and his whiny voice kind of make him the object of ridicule...(South Park comes to mind..)Great biologist, one of the best of our current time, but he refuses to let Darwinism fade into the dust bin of other failed 19th century theories....But to be fair to Darwin he had no idea how complicated life is, that DNA is literally the book of life, the advances we have made in micro biology, the Cambrian explosion fossil record in Canada and China, etc.....Science keeps pointing to intelligent design yet I can't hold anything against Dawkins for hanging on to the past...Heck I carry revolvers...:)

That's funny Jludo...While looking up Cambrian explosion I finally ID'd a fossil I found in our little creek!!!

Early Cambrian trace fossils. Treptichnus pedum from the Lower Cambrian Mickwitzia Sandstone, Sweden (Swedish Geological Survey, Uppsala). Scale bar = 1 cm

Does anyone remember Art Bell's radio show "Coast To Coast"? A regular guest was a rogue priest named Father Malichai Martin. Father Malichai said on several occasions that very many cardinals denied the existence of Satan and hell. The belief that Jesus was not a historical person but was rather a construct of many different fables legends and tall tales was also widely held in the Vatican.
