It was something that I was not comfortable with growing up, and unlike the English we had The Troubles as a daily feature. The easiest way I can explain the difference between Western Europe and the US is that WE has a focus on collectivism (almost utilitarian). The US enshrines individual rights.

The English class system is still as pervasive as ever, their betters can have the plebs be self sufficient. Just imagine the chaos and anarchy that would follow. Next thing they might want individual rights, and not be just some cog in the Empire. Can you imagine?!?

Thanks for the rep. A lot of the mindset from that side of the pond I do not miss at all. I got treated as a near pariah by certain family members when they learned I was a gun owner.

I know who your talking about I think...I have seen him on campuses witnessing to students and Atheists...He's sharp and not snarky...I will check it out...
