...Whoever left that door unlocked belongs at the top of the list people who are partially culpable.

The outside door, as well as the classroom door. (The door that the tactical team was brought in to breach, wasting critical time.) :xmad:

That is just the fatal example of the nonchalance the school's whole security policy is regarded and treated. All the policy and rules and laws are only are good as someone practicing them. Lowest common denominator...

There are so so so many things that could have been done to train everyone on school staff to default to good security practices.

Makes one wonder about our own schools? Are ALL staff serious about practicing security? Are there fail safes in place to protect against the ignorant?

Yup. Somebody didn't want to be inconvenienced on their smoke break or whatever. Figured nothing would ever happen here. 19 kids died as a result.

Quick recap of current information and the operational questions this info raises.

911 calls from inside classroom started at 12:03

On scene commander made the determination that it was a barricaded suspect and no lives were at risk , ie. Everyone was dead.

Calls continued to come in from children and teachers until 12:51 when the door was breached.

During that time shots were fired allegedly all through the door but shots were indeed being fired.

3 Cbp tac officers were in the initial stack of 19 officers that were ordered to stand down by on scene commander.

At some point the suspect left and then re entered the room. No actual time given

Did dispatch relay the calls to the on scene commander?

Did he leave the room and no one was watching?

Leading up to event recap of presser:

Asked sister to help him get a gun in 2021, so said no

Had Facebook messenger/ maybe Instagram chats with several people regarding planning a shooting over a extended course of time.

Had (I don’t remember exact number) close to 60 magazines loaded. 15 were on scene school property. Had somewhere in the range of 1k rounds total

A teacher propped the door open , saw him shooting and ran inside for a phone leaving the door open.

Sro wasn’t on property, do not currently know where he was. Heard 911 calls of shooting outside of the school come on radio and he actually drove past the suspect and went to the wrong side of the school.

The person giving the press conference could not account for where the school resource officer who was supposed to be on campus was.
This is strictly a figment of my imagination: Joe the SRO leaves early one day a week to pick up his daughter as his wife works that day and everyone loves Joe and looks the other way…
