What makes that insane? Does politicians using profanity offend your sensibilities?

When they use that kind of speech to their 13 year old child it kinda does. I'm not so naive to think he'd never heard that kind of language before, but to have your mother speak that way to you is no bueno.

"President Donald Trump is a direct and serious threat to our country. On an almost daily basis, he attacks our Constitution, our democracy, the rule of law and the people who are in this country,” Tlaib wrote. "Each passing day brings more pain for the people most directly hurt by this president, and these are days we simply cannot get back. The time for impeachment proceedings is now."
    That is kind of insane.

All of this Impeachment nonsense is basically insane. There is no basis for is. It is going nowhere.

I kinda think this is the case as well. Too much of a risk and a of waste time on an impeachment.

I do think they will use their committees to investigate the **** out of all things Trump though and sling about as much negative political mud as they can dig up.

I think they will be in campaign mode for the next two years and set the table [strike]for[/strike] [to try] taking back the presidency in 2020.

    Fixy

I do not think they will be successful. Partly because they will be trying to make headway while holding at bay the leftist, socialist mob from within increasingly nipping at their heels. I think Pelosi is sophisticated enough to know their best chance would be a continuation of the current Democrat/MSM campaign of investigation and innuendo without actual substantive action (which usually requires the presentation of actual evidence, with discovery and a chance for the accused to refute) thus sullying the target(s) while leaving them little recourse

My feeling is that the likes of Pelosi still don't understand the visceral appeal of Trump to half the voting public and that the Dems will drastically overplay their hand, likely ensuring Trump's re-election should he run in 2020

I agree that the Democrats attack on Trump and anyone associated with Trump smacks of vindictiveness because of their hatred for all things Trump. Continued relentless attacks can be a major turn off that could possibly work against them.

Touche.... but I don't think the leaders are currently resigned to follow that route, at least while Mueller is investigating.

So, for the next six years at least. There is no statute of limitations on collusion, because, it's not against the law.

    Meh. Big whoopie.

If Trump were to say something about the terrorists, "Yeah. We're gonna go over there and kick the mother f*****s a** HUGE!" Everyone would be whooping about how we have someone who isn't afraid to say it like it is.

Somebody on the other side says it and, "OH BOO HOO.:crying: Oh potty mouth.:runaway:" Please... Give me a break!

As for me I'd like to go back to the days when fist fights would break out in the senate and house. Those were MEN, willing to smash and get smashed for what they believe in. Now we have a bunch of mealy mouthed pansies afraid to say what they think because 7.2% of the population, or 3.48% of the voting population will disagree with them.

    Regards,

    Doug

I think the dems are going to try everything they can to get trump out of office as soon as they get the chance. As you said, probably not in their best interest long term, but in recent years, not sure they really care about long term issues.
They have a similar situation as the Republicans had when they took the house from dems. It changed the game because they had to appease the tea party types. This is kinda the same, though I have to acknowledge that it’s not exactly a perfect mirror. For example the tea party helped the GOP big time in 2010 taking a lot of seats held by dems. In this past election it wasn’t the new bat **** crazy dems winning the GOP held seats. It was mostly the more moderate democrats taking thise seats.

But, there are enough bat **** crazy democrats in both houses, and prominent rich and famous democrat supporters, who are insisting democrats push for impeachment, that the less bat **** crazy dems have to work with that.

That is spot on and awesome! Hopefully the left sees the recent events and stops running bat **** crazy candidates in hopes of actually winning seats again. Leave the bat **** crazy for New York and California.

But ... but ... we don't want the left to win more races or run more acceptable candidates. We want them to scare everybody who doesn't feel elite enough to be immune into voting Republican/Conservative/Trumper/not bat**** crazy

The electorate numbers I've encountered lately are about 26% Republican, 29% Democrat and 42% Independent (self reported)

Of the Independents, 14% lean Republican and 16% lean Democratic with only 12% true Independents

This results in 40% Republican or likely Republican voters, 45% Democratic or likely Democratic voters and 12% who theoretically can be swayed. Note the 5% deficit means to achieve mere parity the Republican needs to win almost half of the independents and even more to pull ahead. In that situation, the more bat**** crazy the candidates of the left are the better off we are

I have also seen numbers that indicate within those percentages, the number of staunch conservatives is about twice that of committed leftists (22% to 14%) so we may have a more solid base to build upon but by no means can relax and consider 2020 to be in the bag

I'm all for reaching across the aisle when they're the ones that need to do it. We need to break the idea of an inevitable Democratic majority once and for all, and the more Dems need to pander to their bat**** crazy wing to survive their primaries the better
