    No, no no, no no.
Insurrections come only from the right.
This is a joyous celebration of culture and Socialist ideals. The Federal government must immediately send millions of dollars to support this noble expression of joint ownership of everything (notice there is no private property) and free sex with "pleasure flowing wild and uninhibited." It sounds like the free sex is pretty important to them.
Just making sure I understand the rules. So, it is an insurrection when right leaning protestors breach barricades and enter the Capitol Building, and the death of an officer from a stroke several days later, with no signs of physical trauma, being described as a murder.

It is not an insurrection when left leaning protestors take over an area of a US city (or areas in multiple cities), declare independence, create their own borders, harass and shakedown residents, form armed security forces, commit murder, vandalism and sexual assault.

It is also not insurrection when left leaning protestors engage in over 100 nights of violence and intimidation, attempt to burn federal property to the ground, assault LEOs and attempt to blind them with industrial lasers, attempt to gain entry to the mayor's residence, occupy the seat of local government, march through neighborhoods threatening people, and throw incendiary and explosive devices.

I think I'm starting to get this.

Don't forget - it's an insurrection when right leaning protestors take over a cabin way out in the middle of nowhere Oregon.

A new “autonomous zone” has popped up in Austin, Texas:

AUSTIN, Texas — A black liberation autonomous zone is forming in Austin, which is the Texas State Capitol. The developers of the city’s “sovereign citizen” collective reject state authority to “protect Black liberation and prosperity,” according to their published information.

“On Sunday, February 14th, 400+1’s L1 Collective led an eleven mile car procession around the perimeter of what is now 400+1 protected territory, renaming the area Orisha Land, and rejecting the state’s authority within it,” the group has written on its website.

“400 + 1 is a framework constructed to achieve and protect Black liberation and prosperity. This construct encourages diversity in skill and passion among its members while developing a unified ideology. 400 + 1 acknowledges the necessity of building upon the triumphs of our ancestors while critically analyzing the mistakes of the past. Ours is a youth-driven movement that envisions sovereignty as the vehicle to a freedom that has yet to be experienced by the African Diaspora,” according to fourhundredandone.com.

Orisha Land is a zone in East Austin. The 11 mile perimeter is formed by Manor Rd., 51st Street, Springdale Rd., 7th Street, I-35, Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., and Franklin St., according to the group’s map.

“Jordan’s Place, the capital of Orisha Land and formerly known as Rosewood Park, is located at 2300 Rosewood Avenue, on the side of the park closest to Pleasant Valley,” according to the website.

“Jordan’s Place” is named in memory of Jordan Walton who reportedly died in an officer-involved shooting on Feb. 10, according to the website.

The group says it is “specifically for the Black unhoused population; claiming and defending the park in a show of resistance against anti-Black violence, the gentrification of East Austin, and the state’s antagonism of those in Austin who are without housing.”

The group says, “Orisha Land is a component of 400+1’s broader #MartialtheBlock campaign, an effort to reclaim Black communities” due to their perceptions of injustice.

Moreover, “Martial the Block is a call to action that implores Black communities to reclaim the power of the people by imposing the law of the vanguard,” the website says.

“Under the law of the vanguard, revolutionary law, police are abolished, defanged, and held accountable for the war crimes committed against oppressed people,” they claim.

Furthermore, under their revolutionary law, the following rules apply:

    • “There is no private property and food is grown on every lawn.”
    • “The health and safety of members of our society are prioritized over profit always, but especially during global health crises and natural disasters.”
    • “Reproductive equity means freedom from the exploitation of wage labor, sex free of stigma and constraint, free and accessible abortion, a right to pleasure flowing wild and uninhibited, and safe, happy, power-balanced child rearing.”
    • “Direct democracy reigns supreme and the space for the corruption of true democratic principles is eliminated.”
    • “The Earth can breathe again and balance returns to the Universe.”
The group repeatedly mentions some form of “destabilizing” governance.

“400+1’s movement strategy is three-pronged. We exist to build a revolutionary vanguard, destabilize systems of oppression, and build alternatives to which Black folx can flee, build capacity, and become revolutionaries themselves.”

    AND…

“Along the way to our liberated future, we will solidify a revolutionary vanguard dedicated to building alternatives and destabilizing oppressive institutions.”

    The website also mentions “resistance.”

“Along the way to our liberated future, we will establish Black intentional living communities at which the Black masses can learn, heal, celebrate, and prepare to resist.”
One wonders what the rightful owners of the private property they are occupying think about this.

I could also see myself horsewhipping the little bastards as they repaired the lawn torn up if it were my lawn.

Insurrection sounds like the punch line from a Justin Wilson joke.

About Austin, observing how well the jacobins fare there will be an education in itself.

Methinks there are aging (biologically male) hippies ensconsed in that organization somewhere. BLM meets the age of aquarius

Fine. You're on your own. Shut off electricity, water, cell phone service, internet service, etc. and let us know how you're getting along in a few weeks. Best of luck!
That is no more likely to happen in Austin than it would be in Portland

You mean amongst themselves (like the guillotine constantly moving to the left throughout the French revolution until most of the original revolutionaries had been wiped out by their own revolution) or the rest of Texas kicking their asses?

    Help it burn.
Okay. So I guess the thing that caused this insurrection was the shooting of Jordan Walton. He was shot after crashing his Jeep into a house, and running into another house and taking hostages. It was a good shot, we'll say. One bad guy down. Two hostages saved.

But out there in crazy land, any instance of a black person shot by police, is injustice. So now they're saying, "Justice for Jordan." If the story the police gave pans out, which it looks like it would if the body cam videos support their narrative, then Jordan got his justice already. You take hostages, hold them at gunpoint, people should not be astonished that a good shot takes you out. Justice was freeing the hostages. I imagine they're not part of the insurrection.

Okay so this whole insurrection is about Justice for Jordan. They took over a neighborhood and public property. Claim they're not leaving. I think the property owners there have a hard enough time with crazy ass ideologues talking over their neighborhood. I don't think they should have their property burned. But I do think they need to end the insurrection and prosecute the people involved.

DoggyMama got to witness Facebook censorship in action for the first time yesterday. Someone had posted one of the Cat in the Hat/Biden memes and she wanted to share it, but when she clicked on the "share" icon, the message popped up that it "lacked content or may be disinformation" and wouldn't let her share it. She asked me what that meant and I told her, "Welcome to Facebook censorship."

    .
I've never seen info on what actually happens when these people "take over" a neighborhood. Does some group show up at your door and say that you are now either a citizen of bizarrostan or you are exiled? How do these areas break down, mostly residential or mostly commercial?

Would "castle doctrine" have any application in these cases?

They will be met at the door with a polite "Don't mess with with me or you will regret it." Any adverse action on their part will be met with extreme prejudice.

Hmmmm, anybody noticed the similarities to the dreasjon Reed incident in Indianapolis?

Criminal gets shot by police, with all initial appearances being a good shoot, local media and local communists immediately start the bad shoot narrative. Media does no investigation, media does nothing to prevent further deterioration of the situation, and in fact media inflames the situation. Later when the false allegations are proven to be false, media takes no responsibility and is not held accountable.

After the state police and special prosecutor completed their investigation of the Reed event, I wrote to Fox 59 and challenged them on their journalistic integrity and suggested that they perform a retraction on their original reporting and apologize to the city for the destruction they helped fuel. Obviously all I got was crickets.

The new heroes of the .... are felons killed in the commission of crimes, because Attucks, Washington, Carver, Thomas, Sohl, Wilson

Read this list and note that they are all missing except Washington. Not even Rosa.
