    I guess I was lucky. Being in the jungle for 30 day missions I didn't see many officers except my idiot and dangerous ROTC LT
    In my short experience working at many levels from company thorough division, I found most majors and up through 2 stars were pretty good men. By the time they are in that long the worst ones get weeded .

    I had many good acquaintances with 173 soldiers. I got to permanent party at Bragg (soon to be Fort Winfree) in March of 74 and a lot of men were rotating back.

    I had a second louie that was straight out of liberal arts college (music/tuba major) that had not been to the basic officers course, let alone Intelligence school. I took him under my wing and helped him. I was a Staff Sgt at the time. All was well until a first leutenant told him that he was an officer and should not let me tell him what to do.
