I am pretty sure it was 15 posts when I joined in the very early stages of INGO. Man, we had a lot of flippers in the classifieds. Glad they moved it up quickly.
50 seems to be the breakpoint past making the perks require a site supporter banner. Its all been mulled over so many times.
Tex is working on solutions to us having to spend so much time moderating the classifieds.

How about a option to turn the classifieds off at the user level. I open up the forum and get 5 pages of posts and mixed in those are 2 pages of WTB,WTS, and WTT I don't want to see. So far I have accumulated quite an ignore list but am getting to the point I am loosing interest in the forum. Yes this has started to be the new armslist.

How are you “opening up” the forum?
I land on the home page and either go to topics of interest from the main menu or hit the alert icon to see what’s posted on what I’m subscribed to.
But what you’re seeing I might want to sometimes, but not all the time...

Well then I guess you need to go start your own forum. The new posts page holds just that my friend. "All" the new posts. If you can not skip past those few ad bumps then you are not happy here anyway.

And I just love how non-supporters suggest we spend the site's budget.

No knock on you my friend but seriously.....:dunno:

Already can be done. Combine the ability to watch the forums you are interested in with the filter settings on the new posts page.

Well thank you at least this time I got an answer. I contacted the mods in Dec about this and am still waiting on a reply.

Marvin has posted this several times.

You seem to not enjoy OUR FORUM as much as we do.

    Just an observation. :whistle::stickpoke:

You do realize there are several ongoing threads about this new format that will answer all of your questions.
We are a volunteer staff and our time has been consumed with the change over so if I/we did not get right back with you I guess we might just possibly have had some ore pressing matters at hand.

Again, your answers are easily found if you look.

You can figure out how things work or complain, your choice. Sometimes the options just aren't available. Most forum software has limitations and trade offs are made. Nobody ever gets every feature they want. In a forum with as many users as INGO you'd never even be able to get agreement on what features to have.

The mods can't know every use every user will want. You just have to poke around and see what's available and work with what you find.

    :faint:

I deal with the tender sensibility's of people every day. The what about what I want and the I will get the last word crowd are my favorites.
The keyboard allows people to act out in a manner they may well not do in person. This is becoming the norm.

If those folks sat in this chair for 48 hours some may get it. Others would not.
Nobody is perfect because perfect does not exist.

People just don't have any clue as to what the Mods put up with on a per MINUTE basis.

I'm a Admin on a Facebook personal weather station group with only about 5800 people, it's a constant thing. Just last night I escorted 5 people off the playground permanently.
Pretty simple rules, no name calling, no bashing, no bullying and the discussion is to only be about that brand of PWS.

When the hammer comes down, ALL existence of them is deleted from the group.

I don't think you can delete old posts. You might have to have a Mod do it.

You can "edit" a post, and just put a "." in there and save.
But after so long, you can't edit an old post either.
There was one INGO'er that did that right before his meltdown ... kind of like a getting things in order and writing a suicide note.

As I recall, he got sort of obsessed that it was all of the information that the members had posted that the board was essentially profiting from. He did not feel that the mods at that time were treating people appropriately given that he (and others) were the product being sold.
