A friend of mine bought a couple of these at the Indy 1500. He has it screwed into his center console. It's a magnet and makes for quick, easy access.

possibly, but i feel like i'm at a disadvantage if a BG approaches from the driver's side. it's an awkward to draw as if someone were at the door, unless i'm going about it all wrong. if the BG was at the passenger door, then i can get the extension. i don't know if any of that makes sense...
as for leaving it in class, go to the bathroom before class...problem solved.
as for machine shop, how about a nice IWB holster? or a pocket size gun like the keltec p3at.
