I am not seeing that bill, the only thing I see is they seem to pass a DST bill urging the US congress to pass the actual bill. Have you seen anything different? I cannot imagine a state going back to what Indiana did for so many years, having varying time relationships to other states in different time of the year.

Funny thing to me, concerning Indiana not changing while most others did, is it was more hassle than changing the clock to keep track of all the things that changed relative to Indiana time. I no longer have to calculate the season to know what time it is in Ohio or Illinois to have business meeting and no longer have to calculate when TV shows come on and adjust my schedule for either of them.

Changing clocks is simpler than all the calculations if one state does not…

Like I believe 16 other states, and similar to what was done about abortion restrictions, the bill is has been approved since late 2019 and can take effect quickly as soon as federal policy changes. US Senate has approved a bill to allow such changes but only to year round DST. House Dems dithering over whether DST or Standard Time should be the standard. If we're lucky a conference bill would select Standard Time and the stupid **** would be over

Arizona and Hawaii already remain on Standard Time year round, and people seem to manage to find time to golf and mow their lawn or whatever the rationalization du jour is for this perversion

If one cannot see how people benefit from more daylight after school and work in the summer but by November through March it is better for all to center the daylight over the workday, I cannot explain it any better.

Oh, you have explained what you want adequately, it is just the assertion that that is somehow best for everybody that I have a problem with

    Solution: 50 state wide referendums

    Choose any one:

    A) Keep the alternation between DST and Standard Time (clocks change twice per year)

    B) Set it and forget it, clocks remain on DST year round

    C) Set it and forget it, clocks remain at Standard Time year round

If a 2/3 majority of states agree on any one option, congress agrees to adopt that as national policy

Edit: 48 state referendums, AZ and HI already remain on Standard Time year round

Maybe the clocks could stay the same and all the businesses adjust their schedules to accommodate people over the seasons. Or just say **** it and everyone goes by UTC.

Indiana is on the western edge of its time zone so sunrises happen later there and sunsets happen later there than for all the people that are more central or eastern in their time zone.

I suspect there may be differences in opinions about DST depending on where you are in your time zone.

What benefits does it provide for it to be daylight at 10pm?
Depends on your situation. If you have kids, it’s probably a pain. I kinda like having the extra hours after work to be outside. For me, there’s no downside. Only upside. We all have opinions based on our own circumstances.

Since DST came into being with by a federal mandate voted into being by a super majority of democrats in both houses and signed by a Democrat President, I guess I know where your true loyalties lie.

I myself will never align with the Democrats.

This was simply the first brick in a wall that has been continually built up by the likes of Reid, Pelosi, Schumer, Obama, and Biden.
