Are PT offices able to administer pain killers down there?

Although, having gone through PT on my knee after surgery, I can understand (temporary) visceral hatred of the physical therapist. Mine was a wonderfully decent person, but when she "motivated" me to do the PT, I felt something close to hatred.

I have had unfortunate requirement to visit some PT offices down here for both me and my wife, and the ones I went to were strictly physical, not medical, therapy. No docs, just therapists. Maybe some patients bring their own meds.

I don't even care, I'm putting this here.

Genius tries to steal guns/gun safe, gets crushed to death. - WTHR

The homeowner, George Hollingsworth, told police he found damage on his garage door frame on Tuesday, March 12 and suspected somebody had broken into the garage at his home on West Third Street in Marion.

Hollingsworth said his garage was full of clutter and told police he would start going through those items on Wednesday, March 13. When he did, he found his 900-pound antique floor safe tipped over and a body underneath it.

Harris County (Texas) Sheriff's Office reports on Facebook (bleah):

Several masked, armed men were robbing a physical therapy office in the 14700 block of Pebble Bend Drive this afternoon.
An employee, believed to have a concealed handgun license, shot, wounding one of the men, who returned fire, striking a woman in the leg.
The suspects -- black men wearing hoodies that were red, black and blue -- fled in a black 4-door vehicle, possibly a Nissan Maxima or Altima.
... Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or 713-221-6000.

Seems odd to target a physical therapy office.

Some more info on the incident, but no real insight as to why they picked a PT clinic.

    Cincinnati OH, 24 Jan 2019:

CINCINNATI — A Cincinnati police captain said a would-be robber is dead because a 63-year-old convenience store owner protected herself.

"A 48-year-old individual comes inside, points a gun to her head, demands money," said Capt. Paul Broxterman.

Police responded to the Glenway Pony Keg on Glenway Avenue at about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. Officers found James Douglas, 48, fatally shot. Broxterman said the man was trying to rob the West Price Hill store, but the owner put up a fight -- shooting and killing Douglas.

"She’s nothing short of a hero," Broxterman said.

Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph Deters said Thursday the shooting was "clearly justified."

cant wait for more details very close to home

Seek and ye shall find! Looks like the bad guy got a Forrest Gump injury.

[h=1]Homeowner shot robber who tried to hold up 3 people while wearing police vest, IMPD says[/h]
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Police arrested 34-year-old Carl Simion for criminal confinement and impersonating a public servant.
Officers say he was wearing a police vest when he tried to hold-up two men and a woman inside a home on Indy’s southeast side.

This happened around midnight in the 9000 block of East McGregor Road near South Franklin Road and East Southport Road.

Police say one of the people inside the home pulled out a gun and shot Simion.

Simion fled from the home, but police found him. Medics transported him to the hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound to his buttocks. Police say it is not a life-threatening injury.

“You think you’re in a safe neighborhood, but no one is ever safe anymore… I’m gonna put up some extra storm doors and replace some of the locks to make sure they are quality locks,” the neighbor said.

Still would like to know how this started. Did they let him in, did he force his way in? Did they know him? Lots of unanswered questions.
This is very close to home for me as well, and not really an area you would expect this to happen.
If anything, I guess that's the lesson: you have to expect it everywhere.

They updated and added video. Scary stuff. Baddie wearing body armor? Sounds like the good guy made the right choice since the baddie wasn't wearing his Level 2 drawers.

Bad situation all around. Somebody knocking on your door wearing what looks to be LEO gear and you want to answer. Things like this might start making people ask for more credentials or call in to be sure that the person is really LEO. Adds more time and trouble to the system.

Maybe I should get some wording for the vest I keep in my truck. I am not LEO or the media so maybe I will just get Good Guy printed up. That will let everyone know what is going on.
