I cant imagine how disenfranchising voters would be fair to anyone. I mean, how would you decide who loses representation just because they wanted to nominate an outsider?
I don't know, that's why I ask. I was surprised to learn that the Speaker needn't be an elected rep. Now I'm filled with many questions of the logistics of that.

I am not an expert, but I believe that they are just a "figurehead" for the house, and they just run the business side of what gets brought to the floor, how votes are held, etc. Kind of like a Prime Minister is the head of Parliament and not a member. The house would still have 435 elected members and the speaker wouldn't vote except in a tie, but I could be wrong about them breaking a tie. Ties aren't as prevalent in the house, anyway, since there's an odd number of members.

That would certainly be fun! I wonder how it works if the speaker is not a member of the House. Would they vote?

    .
The thing that would really make it fun is that he would still be eligible to run in 24. Can you imagine the meltdowns over 10 years of Trump presidency? It would be glorious to watch.

Or. Biden and Harris deplane at the same time, Biden stumbles down the steps, you know, because he's feeble. Harris, then looses her balance and falls down the stairs after. You know, because she's a bit under the influence. Terrible injuries. Tragic, I know. Unfortunately, they don't recover. I mean, what a way to go. Anyway, the speaker then becomes president.

:rofl:This is just as stupid as Fetterman for president. Some people have just gone insane.
Hey. Fetterman won because of women's sympathy vote. It could happen. A dead guy won in a landslide. Apparently dead people stick together.

Remember the boys that murdered their parents, some juror said she didnt vote to convict because she felt sorry for them, being orphans now and all.

It's MSNBC, if he had balls he wouldn't have the job. He is almost certainly well paid to read whatever his scriptwriters hand him

It is symptomatic of the class of people intent on 'getting theirs' regardless of how that is dragging the country over a cliff

    Isn't that the goal really?
