That was essentially the end of the dems in Indiana as statewide office holders. Hopefully, it will do the same for Texas.

It seems like exactly the sort of 'action' a Democrat would love. You go on an expenses-paid (by the DNC) junket to a 4 or 5 star hotel, eat at restaurants of note, confab with your 'leadership' and enlist national media to help convince your constituency that you are going to the wall to defeat racist voter suppression

Not sure that's going to work out for Gov Abbott...

Like most states, legislators are exempt from arrest during legislative sessions in Texas.

Sec. 14. PRIVILEGE FROM ARREST DURING LEGISLATIVE SESSION. Senators and Representatives shall, except in cases of treason, felony, or breach of the peace, be privileged from arrest during the session of the Legislature, and in going to and returning from the same.

Keeps the opposition from locking up dissenters to influence their votes or prevent them from voting.

Just a bunch of spoiled children wanting to get paid for not working, and having a vacation on someone else’s dime. If they flee the state, they should at least have to forfeit their pay since they are obviously not doing their jobs

Need a quorum to have a session. Enough Dems ran away that a quorum can't be achieved. Need more Republican reps.
