Yes, then dock their pay. Or fine them. Or whatever. But it would have to be a punishment spelled out.
Don't just make up a penalty.
Or send in the State Troopers.
Are they going to arrest them? On what charge?

If they're not being charged, or "detained", isn't that kidnapping?

Most aren't in it for the pay that they get. They are in it for the other money.

A little FYI. While, there's little doubt he used the "word" in question, the quote above has never been verified, and was first reported in 1995. You won't find a single reference to that statement prior to then.

Reports say Idaho State Police welcome Oregon Senators and told Oregon State Police to stand down. "You don’t have jurisdiction in our state. Not to mention Idaho does not like Kate Brown." Go Idaho!

Blocking a vote? I guess. Can't win on the merits, try to game the system. No party has a lock on this behavior, I guess.
