I can't remember the last time I bought clothing from a brick and mortar store.

I buy a LOT of what I consume online. Still buy food locally and I hit the hardware stores for nuts and bolts type stuff and the home centers if I'm doing some type of home reno that requires wood, but that's about it.

Why would I take the time to go to a local store to find lacking inventories/choices and higher prices? Jeff can get me what I need 80% of the time.
At least most brands have consistent sizing within the brand, so you get one pair of pants or whatever and you can usually get away with ordering that same size across the brand and not have to return stuff.

I hate to be lazy and make people deliver everything, but...if the store wasn't consistently awful, I'd go more!

People are on edge these days. It's going to take some time for Americans to get used to diminished levels of service, product availability and real people to work with.

I find myself at times taking a breath, telling myself that we live in a different world and I should just roll with it. Life is still good.
Yep. Implementation of socialism and communism requires sacrifice, but it's for the greater good.

I can't remember the last time I tried anything on in a store. I'm certain I never tried on a t-shirt. I can hold one up and tell if it will fit or not. :dunno:
I always try on pants because apparently 36 inches is sometimes 34 and sometimes 38 and occasionally 36. It's not like an "inch" is an objective unit of measurement or anything.

Noticed that Goodwill has torn out all their changing rooms, too. I guess so you don't steal the inventory they get for free?

Lines at the Keystone Meijer are longer than they were before self checkout. Rarely are all the self checkouts open, and there's never more than one or two regular lanes open. Either the machines are busted or nobody works anymore. Store trashed, shelves empty, prices doubled. Just declining society things.

I'd rather have a spread of clothes shipped to me and return what doesn't fit than deal with current year retail.
    Especially if returns are free!

And there in lies the value of a nice homestead!

you’ve obviously never ordered from wrangler or dickies  Order wrangler retro’s, 36 is a little big, so I noticed they have 35, oh perfect, I’ll get those. Except those are at least two sizes too small! And dickies, 38’s are falling off me, I grab some 36’s and heard “warranty void” before I even tried to button them!

I still try two or three local places before I order online.

I premeditate my trip, and very seldom start the car for a single purchase. ie: store #1 has this item I need and store #2 has these three things I am buying today, so I will check to see if either has the additional item. If not, I try one more place. If that is unsuccessful, it gets ordered online.

Some things I need to see in person, and people still need jobs for mental health and a little money.
