Should have just phoned Kirk. Kept it on the QT. My personal response would have been to wash the revolver thoroughly, dis-assemble, and carry it home with other junk. And not mention drugs in my possession on the interwebz.

This ain't private time here, you know.

+1 to all of the above.

This would be my question as well, if I found a gun in a duffel bag with coke, I would assume the gun was not acquired legally and wouldn't want any part of it until I had proof that it was OK for me to own.

Yeah this had occurred to me. Ended up talking to a CA lawyer who was nice enough to talk to me for a few. It's perfectly legal to tsa check the thing and fly home or use an ffl but CA has registration and the ffl will run the serial number. Going that route. My father is old and has enough problems. As long as no flags appear he will enjoy his new revolver. :)

Hmm, this is a sticky wicket.

If it's 'his' revolver, he's OK to lock it up and fly home with it. Alternatively, he could ship it, but I assume UPS or FedEx would expect that to go to an FFL. Maybe some one else here has experience with ship firearms to themselves.

Now, has does the firearm become 'his' firearm? Here that's a pretty easy thing and I would assume he would simply reach out and take it. But in Cali, there's a bit of hoops to go through as others have said. Is going through all those hoops necessary if the gun is leaving ASAP? I wouldn't want TSA / CHP / etc. asking a bunch of tough questions at the airport...

Of course, I wouldn't think finding a gun in an abandoned storage locker would be a new thing.

So, these lockers were your uncle's? If the gun wasn't registered to him, that's a good reason to keep it locked up and out of sight.

Oh, the magazines? Ship them via UPS, ASAP. Throw them in with a box of other stuff and you'll be all good; parts =/= firearms.

Step one: fill bag with cocaine, porn and guns. Step two:.......... Step three: profit.

Seems like your uncle was stuck on step two of his master plan.

Have the homeless take away the cans for you, enjoy the coke, ditch the doll, and drive to Nevada and Fed Ex that piece of machinery back home again in Indiana with the mags. Uncle Party would be happy.

I found something REALLY interesting on the boat. It was a duffle bag that contained some good things and some bad things. I will share if yall want me too as payment for explanation of local law. Be careful what you ask for...

When are we going to find out what was on the boat, or did I miss that part?

I'm waiting for that too. I even provided the link to the proper CA declaration forms. You can PM me the details Burnsy.

It's not illegal if it happens in international waters.
