Now we are making progress. Instead of defending the past, we are looking to change what happens in the future.

Not sure I buy into your suggestions, but at least its a springboard for conversation!

    New police policies:

    1. Unknown suspects will not be pursued.
    2. Known suspects will be sent emails and/or text messages asking them to come down to the station and turn themselves in.
    3. Search warrants will be replaced with requests for an invitation to come in and search for evidence.

    .
Guy drives around protestors, protestors chase him down and block his vehicle, protestors assault driver and smash windshield with skateboard.

Driver was later arrested by the police...

    Cops...

You are ****ting in your own nest here by siding with the *******s breaking the law in the first place.
    Time to pick a side.

What is it with these people and skateboards?

Lesson learned: During a riot, the rioters are the only ones with rights. They have the right to stop you, damage your property, assault you, and, if they choose, murder you.
You have only the right to be a victim.
Therefore, a wise person will avoid places where riots are likely to happen at all times.

Sounds like a 4th new police policy is needed.

Pertaining to the conversation about choices:

ETA, the Trump gushing isn’t the point, BTW. It’s the choices he could have made vs the choices he did make.

IKR. They should ban assault skateboards.

ABOs (Assault Blunt Objects, includes: assault hammers, assault bats, assault 2X4s, assault bar-stools, assault saxophones, and now assault skateboards) kill more people every year than all rifles combined.

Exactly right and you'll never see this on the mainstream "news" outlets.

A couple of days ago I finally had some time to watch the viva/Nate/Barnes and whats-his-face archived livestream. Also watching Nate's video was informative.

It was enough to modify my opinion a bit. It looks like Breonna did not only know what was going on, she was part of it. LMPD had transcripts of her phone conversations with Glover when he was in jail. Also, they have video of the deliveries and high traffic. It sounds like her apartment was indeed the stash house, at least at one point. It's unknown whether that ended when she broke up with Glover. I assume that's the case.

The two videos bring up some points that make LMPD look more incompetent than crooked. Nate brought up the point, from the perspective of being a former NYPD police officer, and later a prosecutor, it is highly unusual to execute the warrant the way they did. You either do a no-knock, which involves busting the door down, or you do a knock and announce, which means you knock on the door, wait for someone to answer, then you push your way in and execute the warrant. You don't do a hybrid of the two, and you don't bring a battering ram to a knock and announce, according to Nate. Barnes agreed. They greatly increased the likelihood of violence when they did it the way they did.

It was changed from no-knock to knock and announce during the briefing. Apparently because the confidence wasn't what it was when they got the warrant. They didn't do any surveillance the day of, which they said was also highly unusual. You don't serve a warrant like that unless you know who is in the house. They didn't do the work up front to figure that out. The three cops involved who served the warrant, were not part of the case. They were just brought in to do it. They didn't know what was going on. It looked to the lawyers that these guys were turned into scapegoats after things went wrong. They didn't say they thought there was any racial component to it, but would have to wait for the FBI report. Nate, who is Black and describes himself as Left wing, said that the media is portraying lies. They've made several claims that are untrue, probably because media makes more money off of controversy like this. And also to stir up strife.

And as we learn more in the time that passes we find that the Media is full of :poop: and as you say makes more money from pushing the lies than letting the real
story be told. They benefit not only from this set of un-truths but the insanity that follows when the useful morons got burning beating and shopping for TV's and Nike's after store hours.
People need to stop with the knee jerk reactions and let the truth come out. But instead they call the likes of her boyfriend that shot at the cops and the floyds of the world hero's. What a boat load of Bravo Sierra.

Follow the money. Follow the power. There is lots to be gained by turning a George Floyd or a Breonna Taylor into a Horst Wessel. Unfortunately, that lesson is lost on far too many people.

And the just as sad part is: the true issues of racism will not get addressed - at least not as quickly.

you are speaking through your lens of white privilege. Facts are racist. No justice, no peace. ACAB. F12.

(Sorry, been spending too much time on woke net)

I had this white privilege conversation very recently.....with a white person. These morons are off the rails.
