Yep. Lucas should definitely come out and say he f'd up and resign though. Should be a law for just politicians to help keep them to a higher standard. Where if they break a law they must resign and not receive any reduced sentence or breaks.
They should not get away with things, but they should not be punished more than anyone else either.

This is the right thing to do. However, if only one side of the political war does this it harms that sides war efforts.

The Clinton saga in hindsight, republicans caught wind of untoward behavior, he will surely resign, then perjury, he will surely resign, then something else, he will surely resign, and on and on. They effectively killed doing the right thing with Clinton thumbing his nose at the convention of doing what is right…

Who said above the law? OWI penalties do not include resignation of political seats…
Nobody did. I was responding to someone else saying but would the other side do it. As in it would be nice if there was a law that held politicians to a higher standard both democrat and republican alike and they both had to be held to it.

If he has an attorney who is marginally competent, like a pulse and bar card...im sure he will get the same treatment everyone else gets, which is practically nothing.

I think we should insist that penalties for elected officials that break the law should be precedent setting for everyone. This puts pressure on the courts. If we would have done this with Clinton, everything up to and including the unmentioned monica gift would not be defined as sex and could not be used in any other incident in the workplace to ruin careers Or used in private settings to bring charges against someone. Is it ultimately right? No, but equal treatment under the law.

if he skates, then anyone arrested in the future should get the same treatment.
