Distasteful mod interaction

For some reason I remember seeing the announcement about the "no pistols with braces" rule. Not sure if it was just a post or what now.

I did too. I don't have one so I read it and moved on.

PS, Because this thread is going to get a lot of attention; prior to the last site update PMs were basically private. Even the mods couldn't see them. After the update I seem to remember the agreement to the new site renamed PMs into Conversations. These were viewable to mods. Did I understand that correctly.
Or, is this some sort of Mandela effect ?
I have a lot of running to do today but will check later.

My 2 cents:
Cent #1. OP is a modern American. It is way too typical in this country these days to whine whenever something does not go your way. Then whine louder when you can't correct it by whining. Rinse, repeat, ad infinitum.
Cent #2. I've only been here a few months, but my opinion of the mods is that they tend to let things go, that perhaps should be toned down a bit. Seems like a reasonable approach to a compromise between the 1A and running a civil forum. I am happy here.

That is correct, the staff cannot see PMs, unless there is a report of the PM,

We do tend to look at private messages as private, things can be said there that wouldn’t be in an open forum.

With that, said, if I invoke @texkev … there really isn’t a lot of discussion. It’s more period, dot, end of statement.

Oh, and there wasn’t just a few braced pistols in the classies… there was more like a metric ****-ton of them.

One time I was looking at a snubby in classifieds and without thinking I commented on the ad something like "nice snubby."
Then I got a message saying I'd broken the rules and I had to sit out for like a day.
Know what I did? I sat out for a day. Know what I didn't do? Send a snarky message asking why they made me sit out.
If you want to play you have to follow the rules. OP is clearly at fault here, and making it worse.

I've accidentally gotten in trouble in the classifieds, too. I don't do much business in there, so i forget and post like it's the rest of the forum. I had a sad, but i did break the rules.

Hey everyone look at me. I had a distasteful mod interaction in a private conversation that I want you all to know about. Man, there are far more important things to fret over in life than what took place in a private conversation around here. Trust me I know and am dealing with some serious life issues right now. I'm sure the mods have had to take quite a bit of abuse from a Richard in a private conversation that they never aired out in the open forum. Get over it, move on.
