Thats good but yet bad to send emails. I never got anything about it. I just assumed sellers were being cautious in their posts. Probably should have posted about it in big RED letters.
OP doesnt understand the law. Today, these assembled braced pistols are already considered unregistered SBRs, but we are in a grace period. (A brace itself is not a NFA item.)

That is why we dont want them posted here. They are technically NFA items. But the procedure for transferring them isnt solidified and may not even be necessary if this all shakes out in our favor.

We never "email" users. Ever. Everything is either a sticky or PM here. (I dont even know if there is a way to broadcast a message to all via PM)

Since its not a huge thing that the majority of users do, we have been notifying users about the hopefully temporary rule as they break it, and so far the vast majority have resulted in a "thanks. I understand" and they comply. Some just go away and dont get put back up. Some just comply. This guy is a red herring.

We didn't want to bring lots of attention to the issue by making a big deal about it. And since there is no penalty for breaking the rule itself, having it unwritten due to its (hopefully) temporary nature, we apply it quietly and respectfully as it comes up. You break this unwritten rule, we let you know, and you comply. No big deal for adults.

But once again the problem is that the people that actually need to see it, never read anything out of the classifieds.
When this decision was made, I personally went through and deleted A BUNCH of ads that had pistols with braces in them. Some were current, most were not. NO ONE complained, even commented because of it. Most people understand, I think, this is a crappy situation, some people want to argue and fuss.

I can't see this thread helping the OP's business he's running through INGO. I know that I would have been on the fence to start with, being that 99% of his posts are Classies with a few one liners here and there. But now? Nope. I don't care what you're selling at what price now. You've shown what you are to all of us.

One time I was looking at a snubby in classifieds and without thinking I commented on the ad something like "nice snubby."
Then I got a message saying I'd broken the rules and I had to sit out for like a day.
Know what I did? I sat out for a day. Know what I didn't do? Send a snarky message asking why they made me sit out.
If you want to play you have to follow the rules. OP is clearly at fault here, and making it worse.

ETA: If it were my web site, I'd be even more aggressive about people who are only here for the classifieds. But I'm kind of a meany.

It's easy to do. I've probably done it myself without thinking.

Oh I've gotten my fair share of pee pee slaps. In almost every case I see what I did, make a quick apology to the mod for having to deal with it, and move on. It's no like we still have PaulF around.

Seems like the lowest profile way to handle what is still a gray area. No reason to make a huge deal of it when relatively few guns with braces are in the classies in the first place. Certainly nothing stopping you from throwing the brace in once you've moved to private discussions with the buyer. INGO is out of the picture at that point.:dunno: Some people just can't handle being quietly pulled aside and told "be cool".

Given the changes happening at the White House and the ATF and the fact that INGO is a public forum, I might think twice about never contributing to discussions and only being here to do lots of gun sales in the classifieds without an FFL, but that's a topic for another day.

No offense intended, I just remembered this OLD meme I pulled off my ancient Photobucket account last week and wanted to use it. The irony of your posts were not lost on me haha.

I’ll admit some of the rules here seem heavy-handed, but I realize I can’t change them, so if I want to stick around I have to learn to follow them. It also seems to me that both parties involved could have handled things differently, but I’m also in neither of their shoes... :dunno:

I was kind of surprised how many of them were in there. I don't mean to exaggerate the number but there were more than I would have though.

For some reason I remember seeing the announcement about the "no pistols with braces" rule. Not sure if it was just a post or what now.
