Damn. If I didn't just buy 6 of the Woodford holiday gift sets at Total Wine for $27.99/ea I'd jump on that.... but the Mrs may kill me if I hit 10 bottles of Woodford on hand...

OK, I’m here to cry right now. I just bought a bottle of Eagle Rare 10 year old from a silent auction to benefit kids with cancer, paid $150 for it, been looking for it for a few years, also picked up Blackened for $50 and the one for $130. Transfering from my friends truck to mine the bag broke and the Eagle Rare and the $50 bottle fell and broke. $200 in bourbon on the ground. So pizzed at myself that i couldn’t even enjoy the smell.
My condolences. If you were close by I would offer you a pour from my bottle in show of appreciation for your charitable actions.

Well after extensive taste testing by my girlfriend, we've found out that she really doesn't care for anything aged in oak barrels.

The good side of this testing is she won't be drinking any of my bourbon, whiskey, Reposado or Anejo neat!
"Candy" whiskey she likes. Plata tequila she likes.

When my wife goes with me anytime on the Bourbon Trail, I get 2xs as many tastings as the average person.

Yeaa the Rye and the Brown rice enhancing that sweetness. Rye has that initial BOOM sweetness when it hits my buds.
I had some experimental Buffalo Trace that was a rice blend and all I can remember is how sweet it was with the taste of well made Shine.

I'm sure this may have been mentioned in the last 166 posts but i just tried a bottle of irish whiskey "Tullamore Dew" made from 3 different grains, very smooth which kind of threw me for a loop..usually considered a bottom shelf whiskey not sure why, maybe cause it could be sweeter than the "Jameson" irish whiskey..
I enjoy it on the rocks.
I had a Jamison period a few years back. Then I tired Tullamore DEW and have switched over to that for good. They had some a couple years back that was aged in rum casks and it was even a touch sweeter. I’m kind of a sissy so I liked that even more! Another Irish I have found I like is Teelings. I think I, low on that. Need to grab another bottle.

First, not under $50. Very tasty, could not believe it was 116 proof, very smooth. Has a very different flavor profile, no strong leather or vanilla flavors, very mellow. This was the bottle that did not break last week. LOL

Angels Envy and Makers/Whistle Pig distillers lineage... and finished in White Port barrels (never heard of that) to METALLICA blasting. Whoa!

Very interesting and found this very favorable review:

Sadly, at $100 MSRP, outside my price range... well, we'll see, cranking some Metallica puffing a Monte Cristo, I might just be hankering it.
