Random drug testing, IMO, does not infringe on one's freedom but rather help maximize an others.
Before constitutional carry became law, would you have been okay with the police pulling you over at random, without probable cause, just to search you and your car to make sure you weren't illegally in possession of a firearm? Random drug testing is the same principle. Commit a crime while under the influence? Get punished accordingly. Stopping random cars to see if they "might" be doing something illegal? Not okay. Investigating people without probable cause on the off chance that they may have used illegal drugs (not necessarily under the influence mind you) in the past several days is not okay with me.

The "few" have difficulty managing themselves.

When the "few" have consequences that impact the majority, it become the responsibility to manage the few.

Freedom is not being able to whatever one wishes. In actuality, freedom is so subjective in infringes on everyone's freedom!

The goal is to manage through such obstacles with minimum rule and maximum positive outcomes.

Random drug testing, IMO, does not infringe on one's freedom but rather help maximize an others.
Hum, opposing views, you must be a democrat.

Hmmmm......I;ll admit I made that mistake once with Jimmy Carter, but then I woke up (not in today's meaning)

Let's say the speed limit is 30mph on your street. You have a nice home in a good neighborhood. You and the families have children that play outside. You have this one house in the middle of the block that frequently has a bunch of cars out there, drinking people partying all the time, foul language and constantly speeding down the street.

Are you suggesting that only a democrat would collectively talk to their neighbors to see what can be done to keep their children safe? Are you suggesting that is an infringement on some peoples life, to complain and possibly make up block rules?

I haven't ever done drugs, maybe I should have, but what I do on my time, away from school, work, or whatever, is no one else's business.
Whether it's drugs, alcohol, firearms, or putting on a latex and fur costume to watch RuPaul.
If anything I do, doesn't directly affect anyone else, leave me be.

we were foster parents for years, took numerous classes and training to be Special Needs Fosters. Adopted one that stole our hearts.

implying some ignorant crap online that you would get decked for face to face, is not what I’m looking for in a forum of adults.
if that’s the standard, ban me now.

The only difference is one is authorized by the individual and the other is not.

NO, I do not endorse random searches. The same goes for random alcohol checks on the road. If I choose to take the route, I give the authorization; if I don't then I take another route. If I want a job that does random testing, by me taking the job I accept that fact.

I think there are laws that protect us in these areas; however, if I want to go to homecoming and they are doing random testing, I accept that responsibility and automatically give authorization.

Not sure if everyone understands what is happening here (everywhere).

For decades I have heard the arguments, the pointed fingers, the accusations and oh so many excuses; but yet, here we are. Guns are a major problem, and have been for decades. There comes a time when people who fail to do their job forfeit their responsibility to another. There comes a time when the folks who want freedom so much they allow others to steal their freedom in the name of freedom; there is little or no freedoms left.

Fight for freedom? How? Stand for freedom? How? Allow everyone to own guns in the name of freedom? Freedom is not allowing anyone to do anything. It's not about arguing against restriction for the safety of the majority.

What I see here, sorry to say, is some people want the freedom to own guns and are willing sacrifice whatever it takes to obtain or keep that desired freedom. I have not seen responsibility practiced in a large enough environment to be convinced the outcomes can be acceptable, with minimal consequences.

We have family rules, societal rules, government rules for a reason. Yes, they can be (and are) taken advantage of but that is where "we the people" come in play. We need to make sure rules are not abused.

Sometimes denying rules can be as abusive as enforcing rules.
I changed just a couple of words, read it and tell me if you agree with your modified comment.

I’m 60 years old, I’ve been on numerous gun forums for decades.
by definition, gun owners are responsible adults and can disagree without being insulting asshats.
I move to Indiana and find that isn‘t true.
