Some will think I am mean, but I made my daughter pay for her college education. I did pay for most of her books that was $$$. She has worked part time and some full time in a nursing home and in the ER took the long path. Got her associates degree then went on to bachelors degree went to her 3rd graduation from college she just finished her masters degree. She owes less than 10k still has to take state boards going to be a nurse practitioner. Did it herself and it means a lot to her also did not have the employer pay for it did not want to be obligated to work there for years. If they did send her 10k she would take and pay off what is left. Thing is she does not want or need handouts. Believes if you want something you work for it and if you borrow money you work harder to pay it back.
Kudos to you. My kids will also, that way they will appreciate it, with a proviso, disabled vets get a tuition break in Indiana.

See, if I had a crystal ball, I would have made my kids take out a loan for 1 semester of their college careers.

Hey...I'm taking #3 off to college Saturday.

    Dammit!
Nah, I bet you're happy you raised your kids right rather than starting them down a road of expecting govt handouts.

There's some serious long term problems as a result of this vote buying scheme.

    You are probably correct...

...but I'm still leaning towards #4 being my favorite because he has made it clear that he has no interest in a 4 year degree.

Saw the same thing in an interview where a member of the administration Ed Sec. Cardona was asked by Peter Doocy if this was legal to do without congress's approval and he says yes Biden has the authority because of the extenuating circumstance during a national emergency caused by covid to ease the burden by reducing student loan debt or some such nonsense.
