Supposedly Chrissie Hynde's father was a Rush fan at one point, so she didn't object to Rush sampling her song for the show's intro out of respect for her father. That's how I remember Rush explaining it. Can't quite remember why that song was chosen though but you knew it was time for Rush whenever it started to play.

Chances are she received many magnitudes more exposure to this song due to Rush using it. I'm sure it didn't hurt her bottom line.

    RIP Rush.

I can still hear his (Back to Ohio) opening intro music. You knew Rush's show was about to begin when you heard it.
I was kind of pissed a few weeks ago when clay and buck decided to give up the rights to the song and change it.

It’s all down hill from here. I know they just felt they needed to ‘make it their own’, but they’ll never hold a candle to the man.

I miss the days he’d play ‘green onions’ by booker T and the MG’s and Sputnik! I’m 40 years old and he introduced me to some pretty cool old tunes.

He was a ****ing legend. If history is still told by freedom loving Americans someday far in the future, he’ll be remembered as such.

I listened to him for 15 years since my early 20’s…he and Glenn beck molded me into a man and were the main reasons I joined the marine corps. I miss him every day. Rest In Peace sir…god bless.

Tony Katz is not bad in Rush's old time slot, but Rush's shoes are simply too big for anyone to fill any time soon.

I like Tony. He sure ain't Rush though.

Tony's much better when talking local stuff vs trying to be a Rush with national and world topics.

Give the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton show a shot. They aren't Rush, but they've been doing a nice job picking up the torch over the past year.

It airs from Noon - 3:00 on 1260 am in Indy.

Local station Picked up Prager U in that time slot. I like Prager's content, but he's pretty dry to listen to for long.

    In the country, hopefully.
    It is far less stressful.
    I trusted Rush.

A whole lot of what these people are trying so hard to do involves increasing listenership through the fear porn, scare tactics, and keeping us divided in our own silos of echo chambers.

Rush was a gift, set the bar high, and now that he’s gone trying to replace him seems like it it too much like pining for the good old days.

I’ve almost turned into a maggot infested FM type.

I always felt Rush was careful not to lie to his audience. Was he always right? Just 99 and some odd percent of the time :D
I think he respected his audience enough to try to get it right. He knew once the trust was broken it was gone.
