Wasn't there some hook and crook going on with Solara, shovel ready jobs money , and obama last time he was king?
Had a 72 Maverick Grabber. Remember those days wellMy first car was a 1970 Ford Maverick, straight 6 cylinder automatic transmission.
I want to say it was 250ci?
Anyway, 1 month into my driving career, I ran out of gas waiting to turn left into a gas station.
I pushed the car into position and filled the tank with regular leaded gas.
My bill, for a full tank, was $5.20
Today, it's $5.19 for 1 gallon...
Dang,is that when they had square wheels? My first car was a 1970 Ford Maverick, straight 6 cylinder automatic transmission.

My BIL and I were arguing about this gas price. He says BiDUMB has nothing in gas pricing. He said the oil companies are the ones who set the prices. I asked him why did they decide to do this in suck a QUICK matter. He had no answer for that.
Who is paying for the electricity to charge them?
Waiting for the coal strikes, removing light bulbs, putting on sweaters to keep warm and the dreaded 55 mph speed limit to come back... same playbook used during the 70's.
I get that this is about the price of gas, and thumbs up for that. I just wanted to say you aren’t the only person who’s pushed a Ford Maverick. The only car that’s more **** than a maverick is probably a Pinto. I had one of those too. It was a ‘72. It was quite the chick magnet though. My first car was a 1970 Ford Maverick, straight 6 cylinder automatic transmission.

when they shut down the Merom power plant we will see $1200.00 a month
I would of thought your way with words would have done more than a pinto.I get that this is about the price of gas, and thumbs up for that. When I was living up in West Lafayette/Lafayette, I had a friend that had a lemon yellow Maverick that he named "Mabel". The front passenger seat was a beanbag chair. We had a lot of good times cruising the country roads up there in that car.I get that this is about the price of gas, and thumbs up for that. Not really. Exports are not even mentioned, and we are exporting a record amount of crude and refined products. If we cut back our exports especially to central America(Gasoline and crude)we would have a huge surplus.Zerohedge

A good little explanation.
TL;DR refining is the bottleneck, it's because of covid shutdowns and green policies, "no new refinery will ever be built in the U.S. again". Nobody has made capital investments in refining because you can't commit to a 20 or 30 year plan when Democrats are rampaging around arbitrarily canceling things.
Perhaps what we ultimately need is a law passed in Congress ending the executive's ability to interfere with oil and gas development.
Perhaps, but my study of History seems to indicate that Jimmy Carter was a decent person absent malice, just in way over his head. Which I am not sure the same can be said for the present White House occupant. So much of this reminds me of the 70s.

In his book Win Bigly, Scott Adams describes a phenomenon he calls “two movies, one screen.” The idea is that two people (or two groups of people) are observing the same data, but processing the information so differently that they reach entirely different conclusions about reality. My guess is close to zero do. None of the donkeys that I've spoken to and tried to reason with lay any of the blame at the feet of Biden nor his policies.
