Reality is viewed though the lens people want to see it through. Be it BLM, Trumpers, Religious folks, or any group with solid convictions. Your reality may be quite different than someone else’s and still be arguably valid.

Hey Kut, this may be a bit forward, but I think the word “narrative” fits better here instead of “reality.” For instance, clearly the white male narrative in this country (which is a distinct perspective of reality) is being challenged in many ways, and that has all kinds of white males up in arms. Why? I suppose there are a multitude of factors, but fear of change and fear of losing cultural power rank high among them. It seems many here have thought for a long time that their perception of reality IS reality—that is the narrative they cling to so tightly. I don’t blame them—who wants to lose power? I suppose what can soften the blow is that if they concede, they can at least share the power instead of lose it altogether. But I don’t think that is likely, as is evidenced here over and over and over.

I think there's a lot of truth to what you are saying. People get their reality confused with their narrative. This isn't unique to White males. There are plenty of minorities that use the same logic as a crutch to explain their own shortcomings.

Oh and welcome. I've noticed that this site has been gaining some more open-minded members recently. That's good thing. It used to be like that around her. But after post, you should be aware that they'll be incoming.

Agreed. And thanks for the welcome, Kut. I figure you might be the only one who offers one. Isn’t that simply part of a narrative?

Actually, you have two large subsets of people in this country when it comes to this topic. You have an awful lot of white males who simply live their lives. We don't discriminate, we don't particularly give a **** what other people are doing so long as it isn't negatively impacting us and we value things like independence, responsibility, honesty and earning what you have.

Then you have the rest of the country who somehow believes that white men can go anywhere they want, do anything they want, get money handed to them regularly for no reason, never get turned down for a loan, automatically get a good credit score and every white man in the country has inherited everything they have and if their skin simply wasn't white they'd be sitting back pissing, moaning and blaming all of their problems on others like everyone else.

There's a lot of people don't contribute to the "problems" the left magically dreams up. It's the left that has to talk for four days to get their point across about how they're being victimized. Then there are a lot of people like me who just want everyone to shut the **** up, quit crying about everything and be left alone to live their lives how they'd like.

This country needs to grow the **** up.

These are exactly the types of comments to which I’m referring when I mention a particular narrative. Your narrative suggests that you get to decide that there are two subsets of ppl in this country and what those subsets are.

And unfortunately, doing nothing about a particular problem, when one knows it is a problem, is a damaging indifference. This country presently is reaping what it has sown with that indifference.

You don't get to decide if someone else is racist nor project your imaginary problems onto others.

I get to as much as you get to imagine that you are free from blame for taking part in a racist system.

Maybe you should honestly shoot for objective reality, and leave your feelings out of it. You might find it enlightening.

And here comes the dog pile since I’ve invaded the safe space of so many.

It sounds like you should leave your feelings out of it. But if you knew anything about human biology, you would know that is quite impossible. There are two subsets of ppl in this world... those who know they have feelings and those who don’t know hehe

Ah. Expecting an explanation must be something bad now. So I guess when conversing with you I’ll remember it’s acceptable to throw out a claim and refuse to provide any factual follow ups when requested.

If it was coming from a place of sincerity, I’m all for it. But you have yourself quite a reputation on here, and sincerity isn’t part of it.

Looks like kut can take a breather. It appears that someone else is willing to pick up the dead cat racist label by the tail and swing it around at members for awhile.

Haven't you seen all of the law books & such? They're just full of statements like If you are white then this is fine but if you’re black, well then we got ourselves a problem.

Perfect example of your narrative. Thanks for clarifying.

Another whose safe space has been violated, I see.
