Yeah, you should probably stay away from people like that 24/7 ... in your basement should work (provided you can stream NPR there)

Maybe freedom will send you a postcard
I have absolutely no doubt I get out and about way more than you.

Given your acrimonious reactions, perhaps you need to rethink who should be left in the bunker.

It's crazy how many people still want to argue about masks and thump their chest when, after a year, we're approaching the light the at the end of the tunnel.

Only one group is forcing on the other. I tell them to leave me the hell alone.

The hysterical part is with the Internet anyone can claim victory no matter how foolish they are...

As much as this would be great news, following the ling provided in that image the ACTUAL total provisional deaths for 2020 are 3,350,507. That's from this address: https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/COVID19/ and clicking to "Yearly" on the chart or you could take the total and subtract the weeks from 2021. Using their 377,796 number for C-19 deaths from 2020 that puts the deaths not related to C-19 at 2.9M which is consistent with the current trendsin overall death rates in the US.

Now, with the facts out of the way, this is still far far far from being the deadly "kill everyone" disease that we were told it would be. Yes, 377,796 deaths is terrible. But for a population of 330M. that's 0.1% of the population. That becomes a rounding error. I'm not saying that it's not terrible for those that lost loved ones. I'm saying that it's not the massive killer that we keep getting told.

Now for the naysayers... even if you take the 28.8M positive reported cases, that's a 1.3% mortality rate for this. That means 98.7% who contract this survive.

Yes, there has been a huge over-reaction to this whole show.
    Huge - Huge - Huge over-reaction.
Based on faulty models which were based on faulty data - plus the agenda driven desire to hype this as an existential disaster.

So much :poop: - so little common sense.

But everybody wear your hankies because - reasons.

Not buying that number. I don't even know anyone that has had Covid, let alone die from it. No fricken way it's 1.3%.

We’re homeschooling our kids this year because we’re not going to have them leaning to live in fear wearing masks all day at public schools. It’s a shame the schools are doing this to our kids.

I'm not even sure I can count all the people I know that got sick from it (incl mild to severe); a good friend lost both her parents.

I had learned this week that the average age at death for a Covid patient in the US was 82 while the average life expectancy in the US is only 78? Interestingly, the life expectancy in 2019 (pre-Covid) was less than it is today in 2021. I'm not saying throw caution to the wind but chances are...it will take Covid four years longer to get ya than anything else combined...ya know, if you are following the 'science' and the 'statistics'. :twocents:

    • The current life expectancy for U.S. in 2021 is 78.99 years, a 0.08% increase from 2020.
    • The life expectancy for U.S. in 2020 was 78.93 years, a 0.08% increase from 2019.
    • The life expectancy for U.S. in 2019 was 78.87 years, a 0.08% increase from 2018.
    • The life expectancy for U.S. in 2018 was 78.81 years, a 0.03% decline from 2017.

Hype? Over 500,000 just in the USA are dead from it. How many more dead until it stops being hype?

Quackery about vitamins does not help us. Wear your mask so you do not spit on others or what others touch helps. Wear your mask and stop being the ultra-special snowflake. Leave the quackery for Alex Jones.

Progress toward vaccination is being made. Let's fight the virus, not aid and abet it.

Your name calling has convinced me to wear a mask
