I have some plastic fantastics, a all steel CZ TSO (I blame mcapo for that), and other pistols but I can honestly say they dont come close to the affinity and respect I have for my 1911s. The TSO is very close but the 1911s win out easily on their "Mechanical purity". I truly love my 1911s over any of my pistols.
Left to right the 1st one is a Wilson Combat X-Tac BCM Gunfighter 45acp, 2nd is the Coonan factory comped model B 357mag/38spl, and the last one is a STI 9mm churchmouse/AllenM collaboration hotrod.

The Video stated a 2011 comparison. I have a few but yes, they are nowhere near a single stack.

After I had to spend my gun money on a car, I had convinced myself I didn't really need a 1911.

Now I'm going through my stuff to look for things I can sell to finance one. This place really is a bad influence.

I don’t get the idea that non-1911 people have regarding the reliability of a 1911. My 1911s have been the most reliable guns I’ve owned. Far better track record than my Glocks. Far, far better. Now, I love my Glocks and when one is running right, it keeps doing so for a long time but there are turds in the Glock punchbowl too.

Maybe it was the early days of 1911s from some manufacturers that gave a bad reputation. Could be that those early guns are floating around out there, continually being sold to frustrated new owners that then sell them and go on to badmouth the design. If a 1911 is built to spec, which most are now days, it will run and run well.
I have an RIA Ultra FS 10mm I've only shoot 200rds of Remington 180gr FN and 50rds of Nosler HP ammunition though it. It had a few failures to feed within the first two magazines but after that it ran great. I posted the accuracy in another thread using the Remington 180gr FN ammo. And I enjoy shooting it. Very accurate very easy to shoot. Very easy to aim. It's like pointing your finger and pulling the trigger. Love the way it points. It's so natural. That said only 250rds through it after a very short break in its been flawless.

I also posted a link where our Delta operators used and some still use the 1911 over other firearms. Chris Kyle sniper used a SA TRP. How do these people say the 1911's are obsolete when some of the most well trained soldiers are still using them over Glocks?

That is jumping in with both feet.
I was already in that market but I have lusted after this particular model from the moment I saw it. They built these 2011-2012 and stopped because of a problem sourcing the barrel. It runs great but someone decided it would look better polished and I'm not a big fan of that. I'm going to shoot it so I may get my buddy at Personal Weapons development to Cerakote it to kill some of the shiny.
I'll probably have Warhawk compact for sale when I get this to suit me, can't keep them all. :(

Wolson did this some years back and I alw
Does anyone have any thoughts on this pistol from Nighthawk? Predator II, specifically the barrel configuration (coned (wafered) match grade barrel). I have a trade opportunity for a vehicle where this pistol can be part of the deal. Good setup or pass?

Wilson did this a few years back and I always liked it.
Night Hawk does not mess around. If they put it out there then it works.
