This one time back around 1925 or so the police were disbanded and a new community protection force was put in place. It turned out pretty well.

There are plenty of cool names to consider for this new force for everyone.
Sturmabteilung sounds cool, I think it means “social justice” in Swedish.

Ironic, isn’t it? For all bellowing and calls of tyranny and fascism against El Presidente and the right, it sure is the Left who are exhibiting all those things and trying to create their own brown shirts.

Perhaps someone should point out to Mr./Ms. Liu that we already have most of those things (except perhaps affordable healthcare, but I'm not sure I understand how making healthcare more affordable will do much to stop or deter crime) and have had many of them for decades, so in effect all they're really proposing is simply getting rid of police, not replacing them. If only they could be honest and simply say they don't really have an answer to they question of what they plan to use to replace the police.

I've always said that M-W is the whore of the dictionary world, and will open up and let anything in. (I'm an A-H guy)


They try to position themselves as the vanguard at the expense of accuracy. Indeed, dictionaries don't dictate language usage, but document how words are used. So, if society has morphed the definition, then M-W will document it.
