I've gone through 3 chop saw blades already...

I'd like to take this opportunity to remind the ATFE agents and the three Assistant United States Attorneys that I know that read INGO that INGO has a strong reputation for sarcasm, with and without purple.

So just to be clear, it's ok to buy the short barrel, just so long as you don't install it until you have the proper paperwork?

I would not store it in the same place (house) as the shotgun until you get the approved form.

I believe it is constructive intent.

Really doubt that anything would happen, but why take the chance. I am only saying this because that is how SBR barrels work unless you have a pistol that it will fit on.

FYI - this gentleman sells 14" factory 870 barrels as well as any other specific components you may need - express, police, marine, he's got it.
    AIP Tactical Combat Shotguns
He has three 14" barrels on Gunbroker right now.

He's active on GlockTalk. He's a heck of a nice guy from the conversations I've had with him - via the message board.

If you get him on the phone he will talk your ear off :) but yes a very nice guy and very knowledgeable. Now that we will have SBS we don't necessarily need to make AOW's to have a short shotty, but when AOW was all we had, he was a source to buy virgin factory 870 receivers so you could build an AOW up from scratch.

someone posted this on the Indiana subreddit. This is one of the responses:

You people are literally insane. What is the purpose of a sawed off shotgun outside of murdering people easier? The 2nd Amendment needs to be removed from the Constitution. Hopefully it will happen when we wise up and mature as a nation.

    Hilarious :P

From the news stories I've been reading on Facebook, our local media IS NOT telling the whole story when it comes to SBS. The way the media is presenting it, come July 1st, everybody will be able to hack the barrels off their shotguns and it will be perfectly legal. They leave out the part about the NFA, BATFE, etc. I'm afraid there are going to be several people making SBS without going through the proper procedures.

I've already had to inform a few of the folks I know that were getting the hack saw ready.

I've noticed the same thing on FB. The news stations are reporting that sawed off shotguns are now legal. People are going insane over it. It's not even true.

WLFI headline: Sawed off shotguns now legal, posters in comments section lose their minds.

The ignorant will always be with us. Educate them, but, above all, defeat them.

It is important to us in the gun culture to read their comments and learn their fears. We need to know their fears because that shows us where they are weak. This is where we focus, educate and defeat them.
