I'm officially out. After having facial hair for the past 17 years (since I could grow it), I just today accepted a job offer that will require me to be clean shaven.

I'm having first beard doubts... been growing for about 10 weeks now...pretty sure I look like an Idiot with this patchy beard...

Yea well...my beard doesn't grow in thick and full like some people...kinda looks bad after a few weeks actually.

I haven't shaved since October 9th. Got past the constant itch, now it hurts. I think it's because my hair grows wild (right side wants to grow up) and it's getting heavy enough to start laying down? I dunno, but I'm hoping to get past it...

Saw someone at the barber getting their beard shaved off (straight razor shave) so they can start on a yeard. I've thought about it but mine is about 7 or 8 inches right now since being taken down to about 1/2" in December and having 3-4 trims to shape it since April, a full year with no trims would be a spectacular mess.

Jojoba or coconut oil work wonders for softening extra coarse beard hair. If it is the direction of growth and trying to lay it down that causes it, time works wonders.

Plus I used those whiskers to sculpt a chin! :(

My biggest concern is what happened to the crazy eyes from the before pic?

I get the same deal on my stache, hurts like hell if I don't shave every couple days but I have a case of roseastia, where you get patches of dry flaky skin, makes my lip hurt like all hell, like the hair is trying to grow through the skin!
