Winchester 290

I got this Winchester 290 in Tennessee this morning, it needs cleaned up but no major dents or dings. Plus the scope is still clear and crisp.

I have the lever action version of that rifle. It is sweet shooting fun. Hope yours is too. Once, long ago, I set out to get a complete set of these, the 250, 270, and 290 (lever, semi, pump) but decided I am not really a collector.

I've always liked the 190s and 290s. My dad grew up shooting a 290, and I have kept it running in recent years. The barrel nut has a tendency to move, and they are known to be difficult to disassemble and reassemble - the recoil spring can be a real cuss to get installed.

What’s the difference in a190 and a 290? My brother inherited one. Pretty sure it was a 190. Been a long time since I’ve seen it.
