You know that's Old Testament stuff, right? So maybe your argument is with Jews. You guys are like vegans. Like to stand proud and denounce meat eaters (Christians). Or maybe like non-gunowners denouncing gun ownership because they don't know anything about it.

Look, it's fine if you don't share someone's beliefs. But are they harming you because of their beliefs? Is it any different than a Christian not agreeing with homosexuality? I don't think it is.
Aren't the rules against homosexuality also old testament?

Yeah, but not really. Having been a Navy duty armorer, I can tell you that we had the old .45's in the armory LONG after the M9 became standard. Probably just because the higher ups didn't want to deal with all the paperwork to send them back, but we still had them. You are correct in one regard though, primarily his issue sidearm would have been maintained in the armory unless he specifically came by to draw it out, which might have been the case.
well yea, marsoc still issues them at request. I know to this day, they are still in issue. they're just not nerly in the majority, by far even. I went to the armory plenty. I saw how much stuff is in there.

Indeed they are. But people are still entitled to their beliefs (and their non-beliefs) IMHO. I'm just not a big fan of proselytizing from either side. To paraphrase an old saying, "Not to decide is to decide", "Not to believe is to believe."

My problem with this entire subject is that NO ONE is going to tell me how I will or should think about a given subject! If a person decides on a weird sexual preference, knock yourself out. But DO NOT try to make me think it is natural, cool, or the way it is.

Well Hello, Jagee! Hope you and yours are well. Figured since the thread no longer seems to be what the OP intended I should say hello. Now I should probably go and check on IndyJohn and see if he's found the Sugar Cream Pie I'm trying to cool before anyone gets to it. Blessings. :)
    I know...right?
I stated in the OP that this wasn't a Gay thread, but some folks couldn't resist making it such.

How do you feel about incest, blended clothing, and tattoos?

To stay consistent with the Christian view, you have to be ok with incest, only wear single fiber clothes and be against tattoos.
Give it a rest. We don't really care about who you want to poke and where, as long as we're not expected to approve or celebrate it, and we would appreciate absolutely no unnecessary information about the details. Save the woody for your partner

oh, im sure there was a crap ton of 1911's left over at that time period
Yep, and I knew a few guys that were chopping 1911s up by the thousands over at small arms when the military went to the M9.
On a side note, the warehouses full of M14s were sure a temptation to a lot of folks as well.

    yup.
im pretty sure that was a felony. Plus you're not allowed to carry a firearm on base. his issue sidearm would've been in the armory. and either this was a long long time ago or it wouldve been a m9 unless once again he was carrying an illegal firearm on base.... felon twice over... tsk tsk
I think the base commander has a waiver to those rules, I have seen not a few commanders with a sidearm around the base over the years.

Exactly how I feel about people who actually believe in talking snakes and magic apples. Knock yourself out.

By the way, if you believe that sexuality is a choice, you are admitting that you are bisexual. Otherwise, it would be impossible for you to make a "choice." I mean...you can't shoot pool with a rope.

And yet here is a thread dedicated to brave Christians who won't go along with the gays, even in the face of an evil base commander wielding a 1911.

Somebody should pitch this idea to Kirk Cameron for a 3-part miniseries on TLC, right after 32 Kids & Counting.
