Anyhoo, I would have gone to the training with an internal eye roll and continued to treat those around me with appropriate respect. The training would not affect my beliefs and even though it's unlikely, I may learn something.
Well, I don't treat people badly that don't fit my belief system, and try to treat everyone with the respect I desire myself. "It was the in you face- we don't care what you think" way it was presented that got us up in arms... not up in arms as much as the commander it seems...

I had to take training for beryllium dust at one job. It was just as pointless as all those HR trainings... you just roll with it.

All this hate. Homosexuality is against your religion. If you are Christian you are supposed to love your neighbor as you love yourself. Turn the other cheek. Not judge people. It never said to persecute ! We as Christians are so hypocritical. I too struggled with homophobia and prejudices, But I try to be a better person. Live and let live. In the pursuit of happiness.

    Welcome to INGO!

Did you know there's a thread for Christian discussion?

We can totally discuss the "no judging" over there.

What hate? Just because someone disagrees with someone does not equate to hate, take your rhetoric someplace else.

People who believe that sexuality is a "choice" are admitting that they could swing either way, but have "chosen" heterosexuality because reasons. Otherwise, how could they possibly believe that it's a choice for anyone?
You have it all out of focus. *ENGAGING in whatever behavior* is the choice. Heterosexuals (or homosexuals) CHOOSING to be monogamous monks would be an example.
