    The shore of wonderful Lake Michigan
    I've been watching the original Macgyver on Paramount+. I've found it pretty interesting on how he doesn't like guns, which is easy to ignore for the most part until season 6. There is an episode that is all about how police departmetns auction off confiscated guns and completely vilify it. At the end, they convince the police to start destroying the guns instead by melting them down.

    It makes me wonder when that change actually occurred here in the US, since we destroy all our confiscated firearms and the vast majority do also. I don't think that was always the case.
