Took all my cigars out of the boxes, removed all the cellophane, moved into the new humidor. Took 2.5 hours.

    Nice!

You should have sent me a message. I could have saved you a lot of time and effort and just taken a few boxes home!

I'm not sure I could maintain such an inventory.....too much opportunity!

My other humidor was bursting at the seems. But due to the size of this new one. I bought a few boxes to help fill it so it wouldn't look so baron. I would guess around 350 cigars live in that beast.

I smoke a cigar almost every day. I'm set for a long while.

Very very nice! What humidity level you going to keep it at?
On day two I bumped it from 70 to 80
Then let it run for 5 days
I moved into it yesterday. I still have it set to 80. It has never got above 72. I'm going to leave it on 80 for a few more days to ensure it good and seasoned. Then I'll set it to 72 to keep it around 70.

Did I see a couple drawers of Padrons in there?

Yes one drawer of 3000's and one drawer of 2000's

    Had a 3000 maduro a bit ago. And I just sparked up a 2000.

Also I have a small handful of each on the second shelf for quick access.

Let's see those cigars and humidors!

    Also conversation starter.

What's everyones preferred cut, preferred lighter, and the best cigar accessory that was well worth the money and every smoker should have?

    For me:
    Punch
Rocket patel copper and black 5jet lighter or my RP two jet lighter.
And everyone should have a "perfect draw". It has improved so many cigars for me.

    I'm a simple man.....

My cutter is a very sharp folder that I carry regularly. My lighter is usually a strike anywhere match or sometimes a Zippo. I do keep some of those torches around for windy days.

Just finishing up a 7000 Maduro.

Maybe I should branch out more...LOL!!

    Ewwwwwwwwwwwww! A zippo? Really?
Is it a traditional or a butane insert?

Traditional zippos add gas flavor to your cigar.

Traditional.....and true. It's why I usually use the strike anywhere.
Fyi zippo now offers a legit insert for lighters. Improves gas consumption and taste.

    I haven't used a match in forever.
A small flaming stick fr a camp fire is my favorite way to light.

I somewhat recently made the move from 70 RH to 65 RH and the difference is huge. I can't recommend it enough!

I wish I had time for a smoke.....

As for a cut, I have a punch (.44 magnum bullet) that I use most of the time. If I have a tapered shaped stick, I have a nice V-Cut cutter I use.

I have a few 90° torches I use to light things up.

Been smoking quite a bit, just not been posting much lately. I forgot how much I love the Oliva series V melanio until I had one again on Monday. It was perfect. Last one I had was at 70ish RH.... 65 made it so much better! As far as cutters I never punch, although I have several punches. I use a straight cut or V, each about 50% of time. For lighters I have have a bunch of cheap torch lighters...but I always use high quality clean butane. I picked up a perfect draw after you recommended it. By far the #1 told for a cigar smoker, I can't say enough good things about it!

I feel like oliva are real under dogs. They are amazing. Personally I love the g series.

I'm glad you enjoy that perfect draw. I had a feeling you would.

Tonights smoke is a gurka and a kristoff.

Pistoff kristoff is always a winner.

    Now two questions.

1:. When smoking a gurka does anyone else get the urge to buy a kukri?

2: when smoking a cigar that was in a glass tube do you find the rapper brittle and the cigar dry? Or is it just my luck?

    1. It's been a while since I had a Gurka, never found anything from them that stood out to me. If you have a recommendation of something I missed I may revisit.

    2. I hate all Tubos. Glass, metal, whatever. It just seems like the worst way to store a cigar. Every one I had was same experience as you. Just no good way to get the proper humidity in one of those tubes.

Never had a gurka I didn't like apart from the glass tube one I had today but I think that was the glass tubes fault.
I kind of remember the name. But the governor's something something is very enjoyable.

I have a few cigars in tubes. I think tomorrow I'll pull em all out and let them acclimate for a few weeks before smoking them.

    That's... awfully...uh..veiny.
    Lol.
    What is try that?

Tonight's quick smoke is a man o war.

Tomorrow, I'm hitting the cigar bar down town. My gf and I get to meet a gentleman our friend is seeing. Apparently he's been a marketing guy for (I believe) drew estate for the last 20 years. Should prove to be an educational evening.
