The problem is that this sets the stage that allows them to ban whatever they deem harmful. Salt, sugar, white flour, you name it. All of those will be put up on the chopping block, now. And the .gov will be telling us what we can and cannot eat. Care to show me where that power lies in the Constitution? I'll give you a hint, it doesn't appear anywhere int he document. This is an overstepping of boundaries.

Constitutionality? Pfff, our government don't need no stinkin' constitution to do what it wants! As far as what will be banned have no fear, whatever Monsanto creates in a laboratory will be approved by the FDA in record time for human consumption. They'll concoct some sort of petroleum-based carcinogenic pile of **** that our government will deem to be safe to replace all those other items you just listed.

The sad part is, no purple is needed for this.

So you're saying it's okay that the FDA allows things that are harmful, but it's not okay for them to ban things that are harmful?

EDIT: While not petroleum-based, trans fat has no known benefit to human health, which, essentially makes it a carcinogen.

there is not enough food to feed all of us. There would be but, we have to send rice and beans and corn to third world countries to feed them as well. Not saying this is right, especially when there are hungry people here. But when an evil empire like Monsanto can create something to feed 4x the people with the current supply, of course they will get approval, and fast. The only rule in the whole world that every person on this planet has to follow is, you gotta eat.

You're right, those are stupid wastes of time. Let's get rid of them. Oh and while we're at it we can get rid of the National Institute of Health, the VA, and Federal Crop Insurance.
See, I KNEW we would turn you.

You cannot honestly tell me that you feel there is not a single federally-funded program, not mentioned by the Constitution, that is of some benefit.

    Of some benefit... To whom?

Can we get rid of FBI CIA and NSA as well?
Probably don't need anything that starts with department either. While we are at it can we just go back to being a confederacy.

Large centralized federal governments didn't work out so well for the people of the 20th century.
