right, vigilante justice would be going to this guys house AFTER this happened and doing the same thing then. This all happened within seconds. Is it vigilante if it was a negligent discharge? Is it vigilante if he was reaching for his waist? (Referring to the final shot only) Again this whole series of events were brought on by the criminal. There is a big difference between self-defense and vigilante justice.
No. Vigilante justice is appointing yourself the arbiter for dispensing justice and carrying out the sentence.right, vigilante justice would be going to this guys house AFTER this happened and doing the same thing then. So defending yourself and the attacker dies, by YOUR definition is vigilante justice.No. Vigilante justice is appointing yourself the arbiter for dispensing justice and carrying out the sentence.
but I can see his Mom on TV; but he was a good boy..........The only reason anything bad happened was because of the robbers decision. So the burden should be placed on that person.
I'm not seeing any images...The location of this restaurant is in the middle of a heavy crime ridden area of Houston. See images below.
Note how in the videos you can see metal bars over the door and all the glass front windows. Typically of what we have on the south side of Chicago.
Also in one of the videos the comment was made that all the customers left BEFORE the police arrived. Again typical of Chicago South Side population where the community will not help the police and distrust them more than the thugs that run around.

Are you being purposefully argumentative? I never said there was no self defense. I said there was a big difference. So defending yourself and the attacker dies, by YOUR definition is vigilante justice.
I never even said which this is. That is up to the authorities in Houston to determine and possibly a jury. There is a big difference between self-defense and vigilante justice.
Eh, itz jedi posting...Sorry my post is has so much "white space". Something goofy is occurring with my phone and this website. It's adding a lot of blank space to my post.
I’m not talking about websters definition. This guy was waiving a gun around threatening the lives of MANY people. This entire event lasted under what 10 seconds? To say he is processing revenge / vigilante justice in that amount of time….. I don’t believe that. You of all people on here (fellow livestock owner) know that animals in fear for their life don’t always think straight and humans are animals. So in fear for his life maybe he doesn’t even realize the threat is neutralized. There are hunters that get buck fever and don’t even know how many shots they took on a particular animal. And that is just adrenaline not even in fear of their own life. Not trying to argue just offering another opinion to the same information, which is not a lot of information. And a lot of context can be lost through different angles and grainy videos.No. Vigilante justice is appointing yourself the arbiter for dispensing justice and carrying out the sentence.
Maybe he was when the church choir pic they show on the news was taken 20 years ago.but I can see his Mom on TV; but he was a good boy..........
The shooting from behind thing is so odd to me….. seems like leftover Wild West rules of conduct. But you’re right without more information it is all speculation. The self defense problem is obviously the shooting from behind and the last couple of shots. Who knows what a prosecutor may do here. It’s all speculation until the good guy comes forth or is arrested. We shall see.
While still waving a gun around at the patrons.wouldnt that be a bad shoot because he was leaving the store , no direct threat at that time.? MHO. I am not sure.
your "tone" makes it to appear that you feel this was vigilante justiceAre you being purposefully argumentative? I never said there was no self defense. I said there was a big difference.
I never even said which this is. That is up to the authorities in Houston to determine and possibly a jury.
I do not believe that once a person is taken out of the fight that it is OK to just execute them for whatever crime they committed.
To me, it looks like the last shots were out of anger and adrenaline. The last shot looks like it was in the guys butt.
