Got any friends that want to have their overgrown grasses thinned down? Transplant it get it is free for the labor…I’m looking for tall ornamental grass, maybe like feather reed, or similar that is tolerant to wet semi clay dirt. I have a swale in the back yard that won’t grow regular grass because of the spring/ fall rains.
Part 2: where to find reasonably priced in within 10-20 miles of Greenwood

We've starting liking McCammon's more and more over the last few years. 135 & Fairview. I'd stop in and talk to them.

The taller of mine looks just like ^^^this^^^.We knew someone wanting theirs removed. We turned 11 clusters into 30 +/- one or 2.
Managed to line our back fence line and this bunch is going to go down the side yard. Wish we could get more for the price!

Is sorghum a perennial? I thought it had to be planted every year.Other Option Sorghum provides nice cover, natural dewormer for goats , plus you can make molasses out of it. Win Win

Phragmites/elephant grass is an invasive exotic and should be avoided - same with most ornamental grasses.
Check scientific names - common names/trade names are crap.
Native alternatives might suit better:
Turkeyfoot grass/big bluestem
Indian grass
For real wet areas:
Scirpus rushes/woolgrass
Cattail (advantage is they are edible)
Indiana Native Plant Society will have good recommendations.
