Entirely too often republicans will fail to fight the fight that matters, at the time it matters, and in the way that it matters. The means might be different but the ends are demonstrably the same on most issues.

The democrats will (for all intents and purposes) forfeit the next election if they can use the power they have now to get some part of their agenda passed. They had to know passing Obamacare was going to cost them the next election and they did it anyway.

McCarthy didn't have to quit he was a sore looser about it. If I can't do everything the democrats want I quit.
Now Johnson has been sucking up to them in hopes they will help keep him in power. That's why he's doing everything possible to please them.

There is no excuse for tolerating a 1000+ page additional language drop the day before a vote. I find it hard to believe there isn't some rules allowing a minimum time for lawmakers to read the language of a bill before there is a vote. If there isn't, perhaps that should become a priority for the next speaker

You might recall that the death blow to repeal was delivered by a RINO who felt his personal vendetta was more important than the good of the country - despite his oath

Perhaps if such action brought a swift and sure end to their seats at the trough things might be different. I think that's what is being experimented with now, actual consequences; and McCarthy should have sucked it up and taken his defeat like a man rather than striving to damage the party he hoped to lead in the house as much as possible

I doubt Obama's victory had much to do with that. Romney was a candidate, and people were still voting for the Black candidate.

I wish they would implement a rule that states that any bill brought before the House or the Senate must be read out loud from beginning to end in no more than 5 minutes. Can't get it done in 5 minutes? The bill is scrapped.

Rep. Mike Gallagher has announced he is resigning his Congressional seat effective April 19.

He is leaving on a timeline that will leave the seat empty until November, leaving the GOP majority even smaller and making a Democrat House takeover a real possibility.



We need a Constitution Party. The country will be completely gone before the Republican party can be remade.
