I have to go to Macy's at CSM today, with my Glock safely where it should be................I will park outside, enter Macy's, go through the mazes to get to cosmetics, pay out the A$$ for wifes x-mas perfume and look good crap, and exit. The life I save may be my own. Have you seen the thug wannabies, I mean young folks who have nothing else to do but circumvent the inner portion. I expect shots fired at anytime....................

Eastland Mall in Evansville Indiana is a Simon Mall and does not have any signage on the doors. There might be a general rules sign in the food court that states that is the rule, but I wasn't going to go down near that crowd. I did however CC all day last Saturday and had no issues.

I've never seen their signage but always heard it was a "no gun" policy.
It could be that the OCers just go unnoticed (see pics)

The last time I was at the mall I took my son to the movie theater and was waiting out front to pick him up. I just snapped a pic of the first security guard I saw, in response to my anti-gun friend's question of why I would need a gun at the mall ("ya know they have security guards").

Of course, until now, I had not heard that they might be unarmed. That explains why he was busy with his phone. Can't blame the guy for wanting to stay out of trouble.

BTW, I snapped multiple pics over 10 minutes but they all look the same. This wasn't selective editing on my part. There was no visible trouble afoot at the time, but there were dozens of teens milling about.

I normally CC when at one of the Simon malls, or any mall for that matter. If they ask me politely to leave, after all the shooting has stopped, I'll oblige.

Why does it take four Paul Blarts to escort a guy out of the mall? If they were concerned there would be "trouble," 1) why didn't they call the real police, and 2) what good would three more unarmed guys do?

You are right. This wasn't about the open carrier needing 4 guys to be removed. It was about sending a very public message to all the other mall shoppers by providing such an overwhelming show of force for a violation of the "no gun" rules. Mall management makes patron safety and security a high priority. 1 security guy won't generate much attention to other shoppers but 4 guys in mall uniforms WILL. I don't agree with it but that is what I think they were doing.

Aren't malls supposed to be about one-stop-shopping?

    Talk about JIT delivery....

What the heck is at the Fashion Mall? They use to have a really cool gaming store, but that last time I went all they had were clothing stores, the same crap but with different names on the store signage. Oh yeah, ccing my Bersa 380.

I confess... I like going to the mall. I enjoy sitting at Barnes & Noble, drinking coffee, reading magazines. I enjoy sitting out in the mall people watching. You really never know what you are going to see, scantily clad Notre Dame coeds, freaky people that seem to want your attention, little children...

My youngest daughter wanted to eat at The Cheesecake Factory for her birthday. I didn't bother looking for signs while I was concealed carrying for that lunch.

If it hadn't been her request, we wouldn't have been at that mall, or anywhere near there.

Well, you don't HAVE to, but if you don't, it makes it even more likely that you'll be escorted out and asked not to return, and that's not just because it makes it easier for them to see your gun.

Apparently, that depends on how cold it is.

(Obscure reference to another INGO thread I'm following.)
