That was not about bowing down about people dying...it was about commending someone with the cajones to spotlight the "US vs THEM" type threads by mocking them...

No this thread didn't get any point across, it was aimed at something I said sarcastically.

7 or 9 officers out of over 800,000 officers in the country.

There was 48 officers killed last year that's 6.125 per 100,000.

National rate is 5.4 per 100,000.

My job has a death rate of 27.6 per 100,000.

Since my job is more dangerous I should be allowed to control traffic around me. I will install stop arms on my semi so I can control when I'm passed. I won't allow anyone doing anything stupid to pass me. I should also be allowed to install a drop box on the back of my trailer where everyone has to drop their cell phones in, don't worry they will be returned when your past me by another stretching arm. Since we know cell phones distract drivers and cause accidents.

Oh think of all the control I could have because my job is so dangerous.

I didn't make that post as an us vs them. Most LEOs are good decent people. They have family's to go home to at night and respect our laws and constitution. I applaud them and will be the first to stand up and defend them if need be.

It's the ones who violate our rights that we have a duty to point out since they are public officials. Should we as a society just accept the few who take advantage of their authority and move on? NO We should hold them accountable for their actions and do what we can to stop it from happening.

My personal reasoning for jumping in the mix regarding an officer taking a citizens lawfully possessed firearm for a minor traffic violation is stats and New York. NY is requiring registration of firearms so responding officers will know if the house their going to has guns or not before they get there. All in the name of officer safety. Sound familiar?

Stats: Since 2007 there have been 7 officers shot by CCW holder across the country. Only 2 of them were on traffic stops. Since when is it acceptable to use only 7 incidents across the country to disarm people? An officer has a greater chance of winning the lottery a few times before a CCW/LTCH holder shoots him/her.

Do you have any suggestions for ways to improve INGO?

Although not aimed at me, I got a couple of answers:

I don't visit INGO daily, as I used to, multiple times a day, I have a few other websites I visit where there isn't as much arguing and poking/name calling/ etc.

Ways to improve, slack up on the moderation of EVERY SINGLE THING that is said.
One site I visit every couple of days has these stats: at 02:16am
230 registered, 591 Guests and 97 Spiders online.

Not sure but I think that's pretty big....and there are, as much as I can tell, NO moderator action. I've NEVER seen a thread closed or locked. I've read stories about it happening, but that has been in the distant past.
There is heated political debate, but it never gets ugly like it does here. Maybe it is the age of "most" of the members, or maybe it is that "most" of them are "sportsman" (hunting/fishing) than it is here.
If someone DOES get out of hand (one guy posted some gay porn pictures of himself) the MEMBERSHIP said, "enough!" and PM'd the owner to get rid of him. He was taken care of.
It's more of a free republic than things here.

Agreed. I have noticed a lot of inconsistency as well. Not sure why some people can say what they want while others are allowed zero slack.

The crux of the matter is this: a member decided to throw a temper tantrum and post as immature and instigating of a thread as possible. He's called out on it, shown why he's wrong, and the attitude persists. If you REALLY cared about the MODS being fair, then you should be requesting that they ban you for at least 72 hours for blatantly stirring the pot and deliberately trolling the board.

It seems a bit hypocritical for the OP to complain about all of those things and then starts this thread trying to stir the pot.

Good grief. It isn't exactly rocket science---if you have an issue with the way a site is run, then either leave or greatly diminish your time spent there. Just don't get butthurt when you post a clearly inflammatory, inappropriate, and downright RUDE thread then get called out on it.

If some members have complained of an issue here at INGO, (which many have over the last month or two.) why not make a brainstorming thread on ways to improve or stabilize our boards?

Why continue to make pages of meaningless posts with malice?

How about a "State of INGO" night where the mods/owner can speak on the recent trends and possible solutions to donating members?

We are all here for a common interest and therefore share a common responsibility to one another. Is it not good faith to share complaints, concerns, or praises in a decent manner to one another?
