Does anyone need or no someone that needs a little girls bike? Everything works as it should. Tires lose air over winter but other than that make a good bike for someone. Also have a scooter. It's in rough shape but works. Free to anyone that can use them

DNR Winamac has confirmed there will be NO 2021 YOUTH event due to the restrictions still imposed by the state.

They forsee restarting the event in 2022.

Well, I cannot say I have much hope for the DNR High Command Indianapolis using any kind of logic since they banned carry at ranges.

It's a matter of optics for .gov (federal and state) is what I susepct.

What *if* (very small if) someone went to this event and got the cvirus afterwards.

Oohh la la!
Why did the state hold such a large gathering event!

Why were people not social distancing!

Can I sue the state for attending and possible being exposed?

Etc..
Thus to avoid it all it's far easier to continue the course of cancel everything.

It is probably not that bad a decision. There are still a lot of sheep out there that will not come.

In my opinion the last one was a bust. the amount of people that came did not in any way justify our cost in manpower and supplies.

I realize this is all donated, but there is a real cost .

20 people for $15 an hour for 6 hours is $1800 add an hour travel for most of us and it is $2100.

Ammunition $100 - $200

Food $100 - $200

We are talking $2500 at a cost of $25 per attendee, if there are 100.

I am not trying to discourage anyone and will keep on working it, but we have to work hard to overcome the DNR's lackadaisical advertising and get out more than 25 or so.

If but just one of those new shooters
- becomes a fan of firearms
- loses the fear of firearms
The event is a success.

We are planting seeds in these new shooters and we sadly wont see the long term effect of our efforts.

Well, I'd rather know now, before I print up flyers and posters, but the decision does seem a bit premature given that restrictions are lifting. As to drawing more people, I think proper exposure and a little promotion could bring in a lot of people, especially with current conditions and all the new gun owners and such. I was really just getting my feet wet with this event when I first got involved, and then ... poof! ... it was gone.

If you guys ever get a UPS package tracking where you can follow the GPS of where your delivery is, just don't, it will give you anxiety. My driver was literally just around the corner
like 4 hours ago and then he went right past my road eventually ending up in Valpo and he's just now making it back around.
