    You @'ed? (See what I did there?? ;) )

State level: I've been an NRA-ILA vol for a few years now. It started with wanting to make bailout Joe Donnelly unemployed and meeting the Regional Grassroots Campaign Field Coordinator at the 1500 working the INGO booth. They had Campaign Field Reps in the State in 2018. When I'm in the NRA booth at the 1500 (or anywhere else) I'm there as an NRA-ILA vol.

At the Statehouse: They show up with lawyers to testify in support of legislation being supported by NRA-ILA. They do this in all States and at the National level. There are a lot of States and a lot of bills every year, they can't be there for all.

Chris Kopacki (who Guy mentions frequently) was the lobbyist in this area for many years. He testified numerous times, most recently in support of the Civil Immunity bill in 2019. He was also there when ConC was up in committee in 2017 and at the summer study.
Kelly, I know for a fact you guys are working it and working hard at it. If we could see this level of get after it from the Wood room suits sucking the life out of the operation I am sure our involvement would double.

"We NEED a well funded effective NRA in DC." Guy Relford
WTH? Guy Relford should have known better.

There has always been a well funded effective NRA in DC, but the only thing they have done effectively is to get themselves well funded.

I'm sure they'll find a way to make use of the yahoos in DC last week to try to get something through. And if anything happens in the next 4 or 5 days, then they'll make it a priority, along with increased surveillance powers, and Patriot Act II.

My understanding is they have a 20,000 patriot act II ready to go. They have to pass it to know what's in it...

    Edit:
Chris is the #2 at NRA-ILA now. We have a new one, hope to see him in the near future.

As always the hard work takes place far from the spotlight. I would say that hard work has made things better for gun owners, but oops a squirrel, he has expensive suits and took expensive trips. Cut em off...

Fact: Our rights are always being threatened, especially the 2a. There are organizations that fight these threats. The NRA is one of those organizations. Is it the best it can be? Nope. Is it worth having on our side? I think so.
If you do choose to not support the NRA at the very least voice your reason why to them.
There are others actively fighting in courts, GOA, SAF, FPC etc. But they aren't as active in doing legislative work that I'm aware of. And that's the only way we get our rights back.

Really so far GOA has done more in court than the NRA in 2020.

I believe the biggest danger here isn’t what Biden may or may not do. The biggest danger is probably what Harris will do in a year or two after Joe becomes so non-functional the Democrat party’s liberal cabal 25th-Amendments his ass out of office. If this happens, hopefully Republicans don’t play along and simply let Joe totter on to the end of his term.

Why do we keep saying Biden doesn't plan to do what he said he would do?

What is really defending our 2A rights? Changing the laws in our favor, or fighting in court after they pass the infringing laws and abuse citizens? I am glad the GOA is working in the courts, but it is not debatable that the NRA stopping the bad laws and creating favorable ones is far better than going to court after the infringement has occurred...

I'm not knocking the good folks at GOA.

However, just ask any dem what the GOA is, "Huh?" Then ask them what the NRA is...

Again, not knocking them, but if the GOA are as good as advertised they should have taken over ALL of the NRA's lobbying efforts by now. The GOA should be swimming in money from all of the ex-NRA whiners who are worried about Wayne's clothing budget. On top of every NRA member's money who thought the GOA was up to the task of taking over the NRA's successful efforts. :dunno:

Lest we forget, the HUGE reason that Obama was never able to acheive noticable gun control during his reign was because of a strong NRA.

We have a crippled NRA now. Is that what we think is a good idea going into the advertised most progressive/liberal/socialist/communist administration ever?

Crippled because of it's leadership. I wonder who's side the current leadership of the NRA is on.
