You'll have to get in line behind all of the democrats and half of the republicans in DC. They'll move all of their assets over before allowing the dollar to tank into oblivion.
The dollar is not going to tank into oblivion.

I don't know what some of you would do without your daily dose of INGO doom porn.

I've never seen a bunch so eager to be miserable.

    Welcome to Indiana?

We even bitch about the forecast for next week before we've see what this week has to offer. It's not that the glass is half empty, it's that someone left this damn glass laying around. ;)

I think it's easier for people to think about the dollar collapsing than confront the far more terrifying concept of a generational downward spiral they will never have any control over.

Well since you seem to have it all down, how much can we as a country borrow before bankrupt ourselves?

I don't think you understand how the debt works.

It's only a problem when the rest of the world starts thinking you'll no longer make good on your debts to them. You could quite literally borrow infinite sums of money without any risk of bankrupting yourself, as long as the rest of the world considered you still up to the task of paying them back.

It's a clown world system. It's also why it's vitally important that we do not allow china to economically eclipse us, as the consequences of that could mean we become "bankrupted."

How does $1,400 lift a person or family out of poverty? Were they borderline poverty and just needed a few hundred to make it to the next level?

Seriously how can $1400 move anyone out of poverty?
Thats mu thoughts. What happens when the spend that on the new TV and game station. Back into poverty. Is that how all of this actually works....:n00b:

Feel free to put my mind at ease and explain how everything is lining up perfectly for an improved financial future.

A few words to instill some confidence in our current political situation would be greatly appreciated while you're at it since you're apparently smarter than the rest of us and have nothing to be concerned about.

    It's $1400 each. 10 kids? $15,400.

Welfare lotto like it always has been.

Often there's a reason rich people stay rich and poor people stay poor. When people get money that aren't used to having it many don't spend it responsibly, i've seen it over and over. I worked for a small business owner that was a multi-millionaire but you wouldn't have known it. He drove an older van, lived in the same ranch house in town since he got married, and actually saved for things he wanted. I could be wrong though, maybe when these checks are going out people are catching up on rent, or car repairs, or paying off a credit card or putting it away for future expenses.

I don't disagree. I was explaining what the two sides of the coin are actually trying to say to each other. We're saying $1400 is a joke (which it is) while most families are getting way more than that. The other side is saying you can spend your way out of being broke, which you can't.

I think the money is being used the same way each individual probably uses all of their money. If you spend all of your money on candy, you probably just bought a whole lot more candy.

If I'd have known I could have everything I ever wanted by just writing checks to myself and cashing them I'd have lived a very different life.

Oh well, too late for that I guess. I'll just do it to cover the tax increases headed our way.
