    Another one, warriors.

A recently former (he left last week) coworker rushed his HS graduate daughter to the ER last night. Chest pains and high blood pressure. She apparently passed out on the way to the ER. She is a strong athlete, and as I recall has a scholarship for her outstanding ability as a swimmer. Not sure how that will play out now with this situation.

I texted him a bit ago and she still has chest pains, but is doing a bit better. I'm sure the whole family could use our prayers. They are good people.

A family friend had a heart attack in Virginia while headed to visit his children in the Carolinas. He's now in a Veterans hospital 10 hours from home with little hope of recovery. Please Pray for Wardner, and his wife, Eve. thank you

update: Wardner was taken off life support at 6pm this evening. Please continue to Say Prayers for his Wife, Eve. Today is her birthday, and she is taking it very hard.

Two weeks ago my mom found out that she has stage 2 invasive duct breast cancer. Pretty discouraging news and I was hoping I would be the only one in the family to have cancer but now it looks like there are two of us.

She went to the local hospital and had a diagnosis. We had some friends and co-workers suggest a specialist up in Greenwood/Indy for a second opinion - glad we did. The original health team missed three or so spots near the original tumor area. I'm no expert but I'm a little upset that those initial spots were missed.

I think she's going to end up doing chemo locally, radiation if necessary and then going to Greenwood/Indy for surgery and follow up chemo back locally again.

It was like pulling teeth to get my mom to go to Indy for a second opinion of treatment and my dad has very little interest in driving up to Indy but we finally got that one done. My mom is in denial about everything. She is pretty tough, she is one of nine siblings and pretty healthy otherwise. She's always been into fitness and taking care of herself.

Our family isn't particularly close but have been closer these last few months. Out of the blue, my mom volunteered to help out with picking up one of our children from school every day and because of that, the two of them have spent a lot of time together. They're closer now than ever and we haven't told the kids quite yet what's going on as mostly I am not certain how much to tell. Our oldest is pretty bright and asks a lot of tough questions already. I would appreciate your prayers and ask that you ask for healing for my mom so she is with us as long as possible.

Sorry to hear this news. I know you will use your experience to help her navigate this dreadful process. She's fortunate to have you.

    Prayers sent my friend

My wife needs some thoughts and prayers as well. She was having trouble breathing and went to the ER last week. They admitted her. She already has COPD and now has pneumonia. They arent saying when she can go home because she cant keep her O2 up without assistance. They are even saying she may never work again and may have to apply for disability. :(

So, my wife is home. But I really feel like they sent her home because she doesnt have insurance. She'll be off work at least another week, then they will re-evaluate her O2 sats without being on oxygen. Keep the prayers coming

Walgreens, CVS, Walmart etc all sell Oximeters to check O2 Sats. Technology is such that they are as accurate as any other....but much less cost. One can be had for under 30 bucks....and last forever if taken care of.

I do not know your situation, but very often once people go home and get into their old routine (even if not fully recovered), their O2 will normalize. If you do get an oximeter, do not allow it to run you life. It's a number that changes frequently, throughout the day for a variety of reasons. I know people who have them, check their level in the morning and then determine the kind of day they will have based on that number. If you are that kind person, don't buy one.

My prayers to you and you wife.

I'm sorry to hear about your mom. I'm glad to hear that some good is coming out of a bad situation.

I'll pray for you, your mom, and your family.

My mom had COPD. It wasn't good. I'll be praying for your wife and you and your doctors.
