He told me stories of when he was doing contract HVAC for landlords of rental houses in the hood. He would OC to the homes and the renters wouldn't let him in, when he would say "let me in to work on your furnace or freeze, your choice". They would let him in.

He told me another story of when they had a rental and the renter stopped paying. He and some help went in and moved them out, with fisticuffs.

I think it was Trigger Time that said he was our John Wayne, and that those kind of men are becoming scarce. Sadly, I agree.

Good times breed weak men, weak men bring bad times, bad times breed strong men, strong men bring good times.

Glad to have gotten to know Tim over the past handful of years. I will never forget the first time I went to his house to pick something up, invited me in like I was family and we talked all afternoon. Great guy, who loved sharing his knowledge with the younger guys. He taught me many things about 1911's, engine building, hvac, etc. Godspeed my friend, I'll be keeping your family in my prayers.

Just saw this thread, I never met Tim in real life, but talked to him several times on here. It certainly won't be the same around here. I hope they have racing in heaven and I get to meet you at a track up there. God Speed

For those that never got to meet the man, the myth, the legend in person, I am truly sorry. He cannot be described by mere words. He was just... well he was Tim. Bigger than life. Quick with a smile, generous and not one that I would have ever wanted to tangle with.

Our dearest friend, Tim aka Churchmouse passed today at his home.

The following words were posted by him when Rick aka BirdsAway passed. I find them appropriate for Tim and, as my words are difficult to express, I will repeat this here:

    Epitaph by Merrit Malloy

    When I die
Give what’s left of me away
    To children
And old men that wait to die.

And if you need to cry,
    Cry for your brother
    Walking the street beside you.
    And when you need me,
    Put your arms
    Around anyone
    And give them
What you need to give to me.

I want to leave you something,
    Something better
    Than words, Or sounds.

    Look for me
    In the people I’ve known
    Or loved,
And if you cannot give me away,
At least let me live on in your eyes
    And not your mind.

    You can love me most
    By letting
    Hands touch hands,
    By letting bodies touch bodies,
    And by letting go
    Of children
    That need to be free.

    Love doesn’t die,
    People do.
So, when all that’s left of me
    Is love,
    Give me away.
This is beautiful. This is exactly how dad would want us to remember him. By paying it forward and showing kindness to others. Thank you for this.

I always wanted to have a really heated argument with the mouse, not because I didn’t like him, but his way of making peace was to sit down and hash things out over a nice cheeseburger!

Rip churchmouse! You will be missed!

Man, been tough knowing what to post. He sure helped me out more than most know when I first came on board. I had some nice/last exchanges last week with him, expressing many things. He and I and gotten closer and closer as time passed. I remember I had just started asking him questions on the truck I am slowly rebuilding when he found out he had this round of cancer. UGH...

He will be missed for sure.
