I disarmed a lawful carrier today

I responded to a traffic accident with injury. The injured guy was carrying and was going to be taken my ambulance to the hospital. He informed me immediately that he was carrying . I disarmed him and took the evil, icky gun from him. I then took his property to his house and released it to his wife. No serial numbers were run and no jackboots were soiled.

I hadn't thought much about how that would go down If I were injured while carrying. Hopefully someone would do the right thing like VUPDBLUE. What is EMT or FD/PD SOP with firearms?

My friend got pulled over the other day I think on 65 by Impd probably working for that grant money. The cop disarmed him and ran 2 guns serial numbers. I thought it was against Impd policy to do this now?
