I believe you have s good point regarding productive discussion. How do you address "I voted for Biden. I dont endorse any of his positions, but I would gladly vote for him again"?
I don't. It's really hard for me as a gun-owner, conservative and believer in the Constitution to fathom that mind-set. The only thing I can think of is that perhaps it was more a vote against Trump, that is to say - a result of extreme TDS.

As I see it, the answer seems to be "We're not reading mean tweets anymore, are we?"
I actually saw something on the news the other day that said that Twitter is implementing something almost like two-factor authentication for "mean tweets". If it detects something that might be "mean" or "insulting", it will prompt to and basically say, "Are you sure you want to tweet that?" Supposedly it's to give people a chance to pause and think about whether or not they want to say what they were going to say, or delete it or rephrase it.

Doesn't apply to the left, of course...

Do you actually think that Biden has lived a more perverse life than Trump?
Which of those two men do you think is more likely to have personally paid for an abortion?
Do you really think that Biden is anti-God and has been attending mass for decades as a coverup? To what end? Since (in your view) Democratic voters are anti-God, wouldn't they like him better if he stopped?

    :wavey:

Get a Republican candidate who is more interested in protecting peoples' rights than violating them, and I'll be happy to put my vote that way. Lip-service paid to the 2nd while working to undermine the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 10th isn't good enough.
Here`s more from the "good Catholic", drunk ol` uncle joe:

Actually, I pretty much do believe that gun-owning biden supporters bear at least some responsibility for whatever unconstitutional actions he may push through. The anti-2A restrictions were on his campaign website and he and Kamal have their history. It was plain for all to see. If a gun-owner voted for biden, they were voting for anti-2A actions.

So, your interpretation of my post proves my point. Not productive as you will read into what I say what you want.

BTW, any response you make to this - I may or may not respond to it. Don't presume that a lack of a response means I agree with it. I may just be taking my own advice that these "discussions are largely unproductive and I've better things to do, like play with my grandson, walk my 18-year old dog, or go on to some volunteer work.
    A few points to make.

    1. You said you’d stop when they stop. Isn’t that what you say when you’re communicating that you’re only saying what you’re saying because they’re saying what they’re saying?

    2. 0biden voters in Indiana did not put him in the White House. They lost to Trump in Indiana, with all of Indiana’s electors going to Trump.

Regarding point number 2, I keep hearing this argument being made. Isn't that a little like saying, "Well yeah, he tried to shoot me, but he missed, so no hard feelings"?

No. It's more like your basketball team is winning 100 to 20 with 2 minutes left so you put in all the subs because the outcome is already known.

Your scenario fits the Georgia senate vote debacle much better

That argument works until it doesn't. They may not have affected the outcome this time but they still endorsed a political platform that is cancerous to the republic. They smugly argued the Senate will protect us until it didnt. They argued the Supreme Court would protect us until it didn't.

It what you’re concluding from that. In the case of gun owners voting for Biden you could conclude many things. Foolish. 2A isn’t their first priority. Along those lines. But, you can’t say their vote contributed to 0biden’s election.

Now I’m starting to wonder how many gun owners voted for Biden.

    Real or fictional?
Legal. You’re placing blame on Biden gun owners, in the vein that “they” purposefully voted against the 2A. So let’s break down how many people that is; and as a bonus, should we also blame the legal gun owns who didn’t even vote? Isn’t their indifference just as bad?

Yes, the non-voters need their asses kicked.

Read the Republican platform, then read the demon-crat platform...you can read right?

As I said, demon-crats stand in direct opposition to American values. PERIOD.
I can read the platforms. Party platforms are propaganda and fairy tails. Show me results.

Republicans have claimed for my whole life that all Christians have to vote Republican because then we could overturn Roe v. Wade, which is the only way to end abortion. Which... overturning Roe would not do. It would just make it constitutional for states to ban abortion. Many states wouldn't, and women who want abortions could travel to states where they could. There might even be funds/NGOs set up to facilitate that travel.

Meanwhile, the abortion rate in the US now is already lower than what it was prior to Roe. It's been trickling downward since 1980. But if you look at the trend line, the rate of decline steepened significantly after Obamacare kicked in.

If you want to make abortion illegal, vote Republican. If you want to make abortion not happen, that's going to take thinking a little bit deeper on the issues. Abortions will stop a whole lot quicker if no women want them than if they are illegal. After all, drugs have already been illegal for decades, which is why nobody takes them and you never hear anything about them.

Wait. You voted for 0biden because of the A-word? It’s not like the president can just write an EO. Ore even sign legislation. It would have to be settled by SCOTUS. There’s already a 6-3 majority of Republican appointees.that’s not likely to change under a near term Republican administration. None of the 3 are all that close to retirement. But on the R-side, Thomas is. If he is replaced by a pro-abortion judge, that judge will also be anti-gun, and probably a left wing zealot like Garland turned out to be.

Look at what each politician stands for. Look at what each politician votes for and against. Overwhelmingly, demon-crats vote FOR abortion, perversion, and socialism. Overwhelmingly, Republicans vote AGAINST these things. What people stand for matters and is easily discernable.
